That's probably because it was written by Gerard Toplass, Vice President at Hull City and bessie mate of Ehab's.
"In response to a lot of negative campaigning, a number of fans have got together to try and re-balance the discussion with all of the facts" It's Happy Tiger. On his own.
He was one of those rolled out on Look North to defend the proposed name change, and each proceded to give good reasons why Hull City, The Tigers was the right name to attract investors to the Club and the region. They even tried to impy they were investors rather than showboaters that had bought a title from the club. If that's the best they could roll out no wonder they're making such a mess of it.
I want to know what the potential income levels are as do many many others. Unless it would yeald upwards of £100m plus then it is not worth all the hassle. The club gets £61m just for starters each season we start in the PL and that could go up even more IF new PL overseas tv contracts are secured. To land major sponsors/investment and i mean major companies then only a fool would say NO to Hull Tigers.
YES to Hull Tigers - That the âTigersâ word has been associated with the club for over 100 years and the name change is actually building on the heritage, tradition and history of the club; and that this unique heritage will unlock a significant commercial advantage over our Premier League competitors, with the financial impact being so significant, to, not only, maintain long-term premiership survival, but push the club further forward than our commercial rivals. Put forward by the owners What utter crap. The rest of it as well. Really is so pathetic and the person/persons who put this together must really be totally taken in by Allam. Just gobsmacked that anyone can believe this stuff.
The potential income is zero, nobody has ever offered us money for a name change, we're scaring off potential sponsors and pissing off our regular customers with all this crap. That being the case, which way are you voting?
Some interesting statements on twitter last night between Mr Toplass and the Amber Nectar account. AN reiterating some points from the CTWD meeting last year that Allam's motive is purely based on his dislike (I don't like to use the word hatred) of the Council. Toplass didn't disagree by refuting that particular statement.....
Why would anyone when it is a simple fact that Allam does not deny? It should have been a key focus point from the outset, as the marketing waffle has blinded or bored too many. It should also have pulled in HCC, who have abdicated their responsibilities in challenging the real issues involved, but, to be fair, they needed a public catylist to become embroiled.
The only answer is that those who are pro name change and pro what Allam has been saying and doing these last few months are not true hull city supporters. There is no other answer. None. They are a combination of Allam ball lickers and the morally corrupt and/or mentally defunct.
