Graham ? No thanks. I'd prefer Mandron to come back.

Knott and Whatmore might be good to get in as well, give us some new options in midfield where our foremost problem lies imo.

I guess you are referring to the paper talk that spurs and Liverpool were maybe sniffing about him prior to signing for us, well they dodged an expensive bullet there. I am fairly certain that he won't make a premiership player because in the 5 years he has been playing first team senior football he hasn't matured in any way as a footballer, four consecutive managers have used him as a bit part player. I will go as far to say that if we do get relegated he will continue to be used as a bit part player before he is moved on.

Well, those who have faith in Wickham, be careful of what you wish for, as you maybe about to see him.

Striker returns from Leeds; available for Liverpool trip.
Striker Connor Wickham is to return to Sunderland after being recalled from his loan spell with Championship side Leeds United.
The 20-year-old will be available for the Black Cats' trip to Anfield on Wednesday evening, with on-loan Liverpool striker Fabio Borini unable to face his parent club due to league rules.

Can I just say honestly I take my hat off to all of you lads. Why? Well since jumping on this forum I've read and felt the pain with you this season. I wasn't born in Sunderland but I wish I was. The passion and determination you's have of safc succeeding is bloody admirable. My thoughts on cw well give him a go! Yes he's struggled but we've got nothing to lose. Good thread Bri, I'm curious to know the premier league minutes Connor has played to Jozy?

Poyet on Wickham opportunity
Published: 25 March, 2014
by Stuart Vose
Head coach discusses striker's return.
Gus Poyet says recalled striker Connor Wickham has a “good opportunity” to impress on Wearside over the closing stages of the season.
The England U21 international returned from a loan spell at Leeds on Monday and is available for the midweek trip to Liverpool, with Steven Fletcher injured and Fabio Borini ineligible against his parent club.
Wickham has had a busy campaign so far, playing 25 games split between Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds and Sunderland, scoring 10 goals overall.
The young striker will renew his push for first-team football with the Black Cats following his return to the Stadium of Light - and Poyet says the chance is there.
“I’m not just going to look at Connor tomorrow, I will look at him over the next 10 games and he is going to have a good opportunity to perform,” he explained.
“He’s been playing games [out on loan] which is good – playing against good Championship teams and top defenders.

“But it’s not [only] about him; it’s about the whole group, the whole club and Connor is a part of that. We hope that he can perform at a very good level for us.”
