Good Morning Everyone, Or is it? We all know the answer to that one. So, Cellino has not passed the fit and proper test to become new Leeds owner owner, and it looks like the pressure is getting to him. He's talking about disappearing and jumping out of a window (hope its ground floor) "I pay millions and millions at clubs and they [the courts] say I tried to screw them over for a small amount. It's stupid. I could pay that tomorrow. "I am not a dishonest crook. If I made a mistake, it was not on purpose. I'm shocked, I'm very shocked. "I feel like I will disappear. I am so ashamed of myself, you have no idea. It's not about the money at the moment. "I didn't try and do anything bad to Leeds, to anyone - I just wanted to do something good. I'm so shocked that I feel like I will jump from the window right now. Quite interestingly his lawyer is strongly advising him to appeal, though Cellino has previously said that he would just walk away. It was only a couple of weeks ago he was calling us a Ferrari, and comparing Cagliari to a Fiat...(I never quite got that one) Well, guess what, Cellino is appealing!!!! Is appealing the right decision, or should we draw a line in the sand and move on? Pelts is a Leeds Utd player again, after the deal fell through yesterday afternoon. Pelts went as far as to train with Forest lads yesterday afternoon, only for the deal not to materialise. Can't be sure, but it probably has something to do with Warnock not accepting the job. The emergency transfer window closes on Thursday, we have been told not to expect any new players in, but could we be losing some?
Morning Elland and all. Of course his lawyer advised an appeal, he'll make money from that and lawyers never refuse any kind of hopeless cause. So who will keep the club afloat while appeal is ongoing. Several weeks before there would be a result
Think Cellino has a point. He pays millions in tax! Why would he try and avoid what would be like petty cash to him?
Morning all I can't see the decision being reversed on appeal to be honest. It was unanimous and the FL are being applauded in many circles for finally standing up to an owner who, by the letter of their law, should fail the test. They'd lose an awful lot of face going back on it now. I thought Cellino had said all along that he wouldn't appeal? If anything a lengthy appeal process could be more dangerous to us in the long run as it prevents someone else coming in with some money to help out (wishful thinking I know)
Morning Eire, I can see average lawyers doing that, but not the creme de la creme. Don't think Cellino's layers are short of work, or would want to be critisised for making a wrong recommendation to their client.
Morning Durham, Cellino, and people like him usually get what they want one way or another. I reckon they'll be plenty more twists en route. Who have been applauding the decision?
I've seen a couple of articles, there was one on the guardian, that was suggesting it's about time the FL actually followed their own rules and that they had in this case. They were expressing concern that it hadn't happened with other owners in the League. We obviously look at it as harsh in light of Tan, Venkys etc but looking objectively from the outside ours was probably the only correct decision made by the league. Hopefully for the sake of football they will be consistent with applying this rule going forwards but the test still needs changing to avoid football clubs becoming the play thing of clueless millionaires who don't have convictions, which we've seen at many other clubs. At least Cellino has a passionate interest in football
Good morning from a rainy yes rainy Bardsey. Cellino didn't get where he is today without a plan B so watch this space I expect him to appoint one of his family now Peltier deal fell through because Warnock wanted more power at Forest again he can change his mind perhaps he can take all our dross from us
Raining in Bardsey? Fair play to Warnock, turning down Forest has a certain amount of Kudos. If Forest go after McDermott, what do we think? Morning 60 btw
Morning all... Weather here grey and raining, how I feel at the moment about the affairs at Leeds Utd.
Let him go, will save us having to pay compensation and might get some in return to pay this months wages.
There's no way Elonora Sport can go it alone because the FL have rule about 'shadow shareholders'. In other words cellino putting his son in charge will fall foul because he can't prove he has the money .... Its a sack of **** and the FL should be made to pay because they allowed GFH to buy the club, and these twats had less money than people with no money ..... Lets see what the so-called Leeds fans like Pearson and Flowers come up with now because it will be able to buy the club on the cheap soon (Administration)
I was kind of looking forward to listening to Colin's nonsensical ramblings about how he could achieve more than Clough ever did at Forest though! I can't see them going after BMD though, they'd have to pay compensation, and there are other managers out of work (like Mackay) who I think they'd try and get first.
No need to worry about Admin, GFH have still got the option to sell Ross and Sam and prove they can run LUFC as well as previous owners did. What's not to like?
Even that wouldn't get enough money in to sort out the loans from Cellino and the losses every month. That's right even the Bates school of thought on football club saving might not work here
Celino's lawyer before the court case - "I am confident I have proven he is innocent". Result - guilty. Cellino's lawyer on the OD test - "This conviction should have no bearing on the Football League's decision". Result - disqualified from taking over due to conviction. Not exact quotes but you get the picture. Also, Cellino's "top sports lawyer" sacking the manager of a football club that Cellino does not own. If I was Cellino I'd be hiring a whole new legal team.
Morning all ... good that Cellino is appealing even if its just to wind up those self-serving cnuts at the FL ... as he says, whats the point of trying "steal" a small amount of taxes when he pays so much, when it won't bankrupt him to pay it ... accounting error, yes - Sardinian politics, for sure - revenge attack against Cellino, yes .... Cellino should close down Cagliari and his Italian businesses and retire and tell them all to fcuk off ... as for Peltier, big mistake to let him train with Forest before the paperwork was completed, they obviously saw what we see every time he "plays" and decided he would be a disaster Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
