United are at least addressing the issue. This newspaper's information is that deals have already been provisionally agreed for two players in what promises to be an extensive recruitment programme over the summer. The club have deliberately tried to set up transfers six months in advance. http://www.theguardian.com/football...united-manchester-city-david-moyes?CMP=twt_gu I wonder who the 2 players are in question.
Probably two class players, but not wumming in saying that Moyes tried to tie the deals early in case other clubs with CL next season make bids later on or in the summer.
I know PMK, i think one of the players is Carvalho who we've been heavily linked with and Coentrao, i could be wrong though.
Don't think you're far off the mark matth, but don't forget that so far its just speculation with no conformation.
Yeh everyone knows we're not getting CL football but with the World Cup, it's another reason to get these deals tied up earlier. We're still a big attraction though, even without CL footy, and that will still bring the good players to us. BUT I won't lie, I think we'll basically have to "do a City" and throw money at big name buys to swing them towards us until we're in the CL.
To be fair you're correct in saying that even without CL you'll attract top players treble, but you're also correct to assume Utd will have to throw money at it, Rooney's wages could be the straw that breaks the camels back when new signings put pen to paper for Utd. The days of clubs earning their success seem to be long gone, but the Glazers will need to be forced into spending like City.
That's true, i remember when we signed Javier Hernandez before the 2010 world cup, he impressed in that tournament, i would be happy with signings like that.
