So we've gone from blaming fatigue, injuries and a brutal run of games to the board for a poor season?
Yes, and in that order valley.....Anyways , looks like Martinez is jumping on the Bony bandwagon and expressing Everton's interest.Hope we keep Bony but if he goes all this interest is brilliant . Bony was and is a high end gem .
I'm glad Everton want Bony roof, they won't be able to afford him If he does go it will cost someone £25-£30 million for his services. Not surprised Arsenal are sniffing around, he could net them 25 goals a season.
He was a terrific transfer regardless of who brought him in . Even if there is an "exodus ", we will do well financially . Even if we get relegated , we have some great sq uad players, after we take the money and run. Got a pretty good acadamy , some young players to build on . I can only smell roses for the future no matter where that future lies. Most likely though , is another season in the premier. I fear we will be overwhelmed next season in the Premier, and waste a lot of money on a bad roll of the dice
If we get relegated this year, it would be a disaster for our club. There would be a mass exodus and it would take us years to recover. It's imperative we stay up this year, then we can start fixing the mess that has occurred this season.
Absolutely right! We've come such a long way it would be a disaster to get relegated from the Premier League.
I'd fear that if we go down it would take another generation for us to get back up. We must stay up at all cost. I feel we only have to worry about getting overwhelmed next season if we don't appoint a manager with a bit of a reputation. It's all very well giving the job to up and coming managers in the lower leagues but it's not really gonna help attract top signings in the PL. Maybe Moyes would be interested ?
Relegation would be a disaster any year, no more this then the next. There is always going to be a "mass exodus" when relegated. The best players will always seek away from the relegated clubs and thats not going to change. In fact, its probably going to be a bigger disaster next year and an even bigger the year after that...
As I see it we will always be in a predicament because we don't have the funds to fully finance a successful club. Better players will come for cash and European football. Given how many are blaming our European adventure on this season's slump our ambition must be to finish between 12 and 7th each season.
Agree, and the mass exodus would occur on and off the field, the plastic will be gone, not a bad thing though, perhaps we could get back to some proper atmosphere at the Library then too!................
Not beating Hull ten years ago and dropping out of the league would have been a disaster. That compared to dropping out of the Premier to the Championship with parachute payments in tow and coming off a financial year where we made 15 million £ could hardly be classified as a disaster .
We will be playing premiership football next season don't worry about it...We are looking good on the field and if we had a better finisher we would have beaten liverpool, everton and napoli. Apart from finishing we look really good as stats are showing during any game. fatigue is also a factor and that is because we did not have the right amount of quality players at the start of the season knowing we would be playing a lot more games, at one point we were playing 3 games a week and that is bound to take it out of the players. We will scrape home and another 6 or 7 points will do it and we will be safe with a couple of games to spare...
Well said Dia, nice to have some sense on here! there are to many Moby Dicks of late still crying over Laudrup!...............
Dai stop talking bollocks! West Brom Laudrup 2-0 a 3pts Monk 1-2 h. 0pts Liverpool Laudrup 2-2 h 1pt Monk 3-4 a 0pt Crystal palace Laudrup 2-0 a 3pts Monk 1-1 h 1pt Stoke Laudrup 3-3 h 1pt Monk 1-1 a 1pt Cardiff Laudrup 0-1 0pt Monk 3-0 3pt Everton 0pts both Laudrup 1-2 Monk 2-3 Laudrup Games 6 10 goals 8 conceded Pts 8 Monk Games 6 11 goals 11 conceded Pts 5 Sorry Dai! Stats show that we are no better under Monk!
I don't believe we will go down , on the contrary. All I 'm saying is getting relegated could hardly be a disaster , we've gained so much already.
So we are not playing better football then and the fans are still leaving in droves well before the end and the liberty still looks and sounds like a library then.. Jesus i know im in america but it was fine and buzzing the last time i was there....As far as i can see the football has improved 10 fold under monk and you cant blame him for the lack of finishing however much you try to blame him. the way we were under laudrup we would be relegated for certain so at least now there is confidence in the squad and the vast majority of the fans that we will stay up with room to spare...
So you wasn't there for Crystal palace and west Brom then I assume! Dai saying we would have been relegated under laudrup is based on nothing! When he was sacked we were 12th not relegation. Now we're closer than ever. Maybe laudrup wasn't the right man for the job, but either is monk.
