The whole FA are a joke. Mike Jones, the ref that disallowed our goal vs Man City is refereeing our game tomorrow against Everton. Regardless of whether people think our goal should have stood or not the fact is he lives in and is from Chester and is about to take charge of a game involving Everton. I'm not saying he'll cheat or anything but if he makes an honest mistake in their favour some people will ask questions. So why don't they just appoint a Ref from the South for this game? Sorry to go slightly off topic, but there's no way Marriner should be working this weekend and there is no way Jones should take charge of any Liverpudlian team.
It's funny that, Our claims of bad officiating has been a point of ridicule from a lot of your board this season, we were making excuses apparently. This is the same Marriner who's been shocking in all Sunderland games he's been officiating.
Difference is a lot of your lads were pretty insistent that refs were being paid back handlers etc. I'm not saying that's the case, I'm just saying a ref from Chester in charge of a team from Liverpool puts unnecessary pressure on the official before the game has even started. It might even make him give us the majority of 50/50s in order to avoid accusations of being biased etc.
My complaint was the overall standards throughout the league as well as individual performances against us, yet I was personally ridiculed, I made no suggestion of backhanders. You're accusing refs of favouritism in regards of their area of birth. I could quite easily ridicule you for such views baring in mind ones against myself have been validated by the opinions of your own fan base. Just messing fella, you're bang on. It does show how painfully thick some of the lads on your board are though.
Refereeing standards have been poor this season, I just don't personally think they do it as part of match fixing etc, maybe I'm being naive, I don't know. It just seems odd to give a game to a ref that lives in the same region/county of the team that he's officiating. It's just asking for trouble IMO.
