Crikey, well done Uncle, bloody brilliant! (Glad to hear August Hill and jockey OK after fall at last).
Cheers all plenty of form on the forum at the moment and like you all im only happy to share my knowledge
Hang him. Whilst, if you go straight to the bottom line, what Ruby says is true, why on earth did he say it? He's a great jockey but he can be a moody sod at times. Personally, I find his comment objectionable; it wasn't necessary, whatever his feelings, and just the sort of comment that the anti horse racing brigade lap up.
Ground, needs it soft. I backed him just assuming it would be soft like it has been at this meeting nearly every year since the beginning of time. Plus its been pishing down all winter.
Brilliant stuff uncle -I'm back working -so not easy to post -we have a no phone policy to contend with on site!!!
I agree with you, however to write an article like that, even misnaming the horse who the story was about is both candid attention seeking and as naive as possible. Take a look at the comment from Chris Cook, he nails the whole story with one paragraph.
I missed that Nass and, yes, it does sum it up. And I understand how he felt, but Ruby didn't need to be disrespectful to horses in making his point. He is paying the consequences of speaking before thinking. And then we have to suffer the prat (editor).
