love nolan but to drop out of premier to go to west ham shows a lack of ambition. i fancy west ham to come back up but we all know how hard it is.done a bullard and who can blame him 5 year contract on premier wages.. but not surprised west hams board duffen like
Hardly money grabbing. According to the Newcastle fans, he was on 70 grand a week there and had two years left on his deal. He's taken a pay cut for a longer contract.
He's getting to the later part of his career and has to secure a long term contract. But moving to West Ham, really isn't a step forward to him. Disappointed in him really thought he was better then that.
Some Newcastle fans i know are disappointed to see him leave. I guess he has experience of getting Newcastle back up to the Premier league at the first attempt, but WHU will be in trouble financially if they don't get back up to the premiership first time of asking.
Hardly a pay cut. Newcastle weren't offering an extension on the same terms, so he would have had to drop down wages at Newcastle any way. His two remaining years guaranteed him £7.2m, the deal at West Ham guarantees £13m. I couldn't see an extension at Newcastle netting him more than that. If he wanted to sit it out and get that money from Newcastle and look for a new contract when he's 30, I doubt he'd be able to get such a lucrative deal. He probably won't get any more big pay days once this contract finishes. He's secured his future with this deal now.
I didnt realise Nolan is only 29, he seems to have been around a long time. Good luck to him, 5 years takes him to 34. He has signed for a manager he knows. Think its just bad news for us as it looks like West Ham arent going to implode
I thought Nolan had an outside chance of an England call-up, obviously he's not too bothered about that if he's dropping down a division.
Nolan is 29 soon and I don't blame him chasing the money. He may have been wanted at Newcastle but if he doesn't agree with management's plans for the rest of the team then he should get out. At least he will have more confidence that West Ham are serious about promotion.
How can you people have a go at nolan? Im pretty sure if you was at work and got offered another job for more money you would take it! And do you have passion for your work? Being a footballer is just a job get over it just because they get paid a lot more then you!
I was offered a job last year working in a chemical plant on a lot more money than I am making now but it was 10 hour days and required all kinds of safety tests and certificates and high security on the gates and very restricted movement around the work place. I really did'nt fancy it, I'm not rich but I'm very comfortable and can pretty much afford to do anything I like so I turned it down. Now not everybody is like me I know but if you have everything you need why do something you do'nt like doing just so that you can die with more money? My son is now 21 and doing very well so no family issues to worry about as far as money goes so in answer to your question " If you was offered a job with more money would I take it" That is a no from me unless it a job I would really like to take on

I think the question should be "if you were offered a job doing the same as you are now, but with people you liked better, had more respect for compared to your current job and for more money, would you?" That would seem to sum up Nolan's dilemma nicely. Good luck to him too, apart from when he's playing against us ofc!
I run a company that buys and sells used office furniture and store fixtures. Large amounts for example if a company goes out of business I will go in and offer them an amount of money for everything in the office. Sometimes that could be like 200 desks, I then resell them to businesses that might be opening and provide all the sets for the movie industry in Louisiana when they want to set up say a police station or military base or whatever. I'm like a "CASH CONVERTERS" for businesses in Louisiana, cool kinda job and I also do some sound work on the movies too as a side job
If you had a job and had ambitions of making it to the top of your chosen profession would you take a demotion that effectively ended those dreams just because you were getting more money even though you were already guaranteed to earn enough money to be able to live comfortably for the rest of your life if you retired at the end of your contract?
