A lot of kids follow in the footsteps of their father when it comes to choosing the team they support. I actually followed in the footsteps of my brother who was a Celtic supporter, rather than my father who was an Aberdeen fan (thank God I had an older brother!) I was a Celtic fan from the moment I heard all the stories about 9 in a row and winning the European Cup. It helped also that my best friend was a Celtic supporter.
When ER was young Football hadn't been invented yet, so when he chose his team no-one had won anything yet
No choice, can remember being about 4 years old on the shoulders of my dad at Celtic Park, thinking "christ this is boring". I haven't brought my kids to CP yet, shame on me.
Yes, as I said above. I know you're old but do try and keep up. And, by the way, I would rather hunt glory than failure
From Sunderland. Support Sunderland. And thats how it should be imo. Your right Barnsley, thats the way it should be.
My dad's a Leeds fan, so naturally I didn't want to support them..... I got into football during France 98 when I was around 6, Shearer was my favourite England player so that's how I started liking Newcastle. I was only young, you just kinda attach yourself to things really. never looked back since. The "that's how it should be" view is a bit narrow minded to be honest. Sure, it's good to support your home team, but football is a much bigger game than that. It's natural for a club to have supporters all around the country, even all around the world. Surely it's a good thing rather than a bad thing. You can hardly accuse a Newcastle fan of glory hunting either...
As opposed to all of Watford's European cups and League titles? Your fans are as **** as your team is. I support Oldham as I live in Oldham… Glory hunting bastards.
i went to see ireland vs liverpool at age of 4 down in flower lodge, cork. 90 mins watching(probably actual watching time 5/10 mins. i was 4 and easily distracted) the reds and the biggest poster id ever seen later and i was hooked as a red
