We'll see but I see you as similar to Spurs a couple of years ago. No C.L football and looked really good before fading in the last few games of the season. Next year when expectation is ramped up and you have European football to contend with, you will be nowhere near as consistent. You can win it this year, I very much doubt you'll get the chance next year.
You are entitled to your opinion. However, with some judicious purchases over the Summer we already have the strength in the squad to cope quite nicely next season - even with CL football. As for not getting the chance then pray tell me why either your attempts (or City's for that matter) are supposedly guaranteed to bear fruit - you appear to forget a £50 million failure! But, you can continue to console yourself about this season. We have the game in hand and you have to come to us. Even the bookies are shortening their odds on us winning the title whist yours remain static. More likely to see Chelsea fade away.
Why come here just to be a dick? No one can predict the future. I would literally prefer anyone winning the title over Liverpool. QPR, West Ham, Spurs, Leeds United, Arsenal. So will be sad to see them win it if they do, but this is your best chance in a long time.
Why's that more likely Dave? Our only particularly challenging fixutre left is you lot away from home, and I back Mourinho every time in these big games regardless of your rampant strike force. You guys have Spurs (ok maybe not too difficult these days), City and ourselves. Don't get me wrong, I think you have just as much chance as we do to win the thing but to suggest we are the more likely to fade is strange. I still think City will win it personally.
Did you hear Johnson saying that everyone wants Liverpool to win the title? t**t must live in a bubble. I don't know a fan of any club that wants them to win f**k all and thinks all the fans are arrogant pricks.
Firstly you have to win the game in hand (and you'll still be behind us), secondly we have outplayed you in our last 2 meetings, thirdly Jose is a master of the head to heads. You are third favourites for a reason even if the odds are shortening. Anyway as I said, you have a great chance to win it this year but next year will be harder even if us and City stand still. You'll probably play another 10 + fixtures next year and have to juggle mid week and weekend. Massively hard to do as Spurs found out when they got in the C.L with 'arry. Buying more players helps but every team still has a core group that play every week. Look at the amount of games Oscar has played in the last 2 years compared to say Joe Allen.
Good Gordon Highlanders!!!! There isn't one Redman who is being arrogant. If you'd actually read anything on our board then you'd know that I was one of the very few that said we should AIM for the title to ensure that we COULD achieve a top 4 finish at the START of the season. I also said that we were/are good enough to win it. So I'm not being arrogant merely responding to a series of over-blown opinions. Now, I accept that our lack of European football has been most helpful. I truly understand that we will have to add more quality over the Summer. However, we also have players returning from loan and squad members with 1st team experience which means that we can be a little more selective. Therefore we have as much chance as any other UK side in the CL of improving their squad. The reference to Torres was merely made to demonstrate that it is not only the level of spend available that will be the deciding factor between success and failure. Now, all I have done is to point out that you are the team that is more likely to loose out in the present top 3 and I have presented a perfectly good rational argument reason as to why that is. If that upsets you then so be it. As Drogs says, at present it is really City's title to lose. They are the ONLY side who have their own fate in their hands. If they slip up then all bets are off. Finally to London's Only EC Winners. Don't be so silly!
Most people I know despise Liverpool as a football club, and thats mainly down to its fans and not the team (well, Pre-Suarez anyway, people now hate him too). I am not just talking about Not606 here (There are some decent Liverpool posters on Not 606), I am talking real life, and every other forum I have ever been on, the biggest percentage of delusional, Arrogant, crybaby assholes have always been Liverpool supporters. I'd go so far as to say Not606 is an exception because most of the throbbing tools on here seem to be from the Arsenal camp, but Liverpool, in England, are generally reviled by fans of other teams (esp Everton, Utd, Chelsea, Swansea)
If you are going to argue then do it properly! Why balance Allen with Oscar? Allen is not a regular starter in our first 11. You appear to have a very very short memory. We have a far greater experience within the club of playing domestic and European football and its effects. 08 May 2012 Liverpool v Chelsea W 4-1 Premier League 11 Nov 2012 Chelsea v Liverpool D 1-1 Premier League 21 Apr 2013 Liverpool v Chelsea D 2-2 Premier League 29 Dec 2013 Chelsea v Liverpool L 2-1 Premier League Where is this great gap. Maureen was only in charge for the last of those matches where you certainly did not outplay us. Again, your memory lets you down when it comes to Maureen's record in head to heads at Anfield.
'Within the club'?!?! It has **** all to do with 'within the club' (a Liverpool fan in referring to their 'history' shocker!!). It is about your current manager and players being able to balance and cope with playing considerably more matches next year. This Liverpool side is not that much different to the one that finished 7th last year. Various factors involved but the lack of European football and domestic cup runs has favoured your league form massively. If you're denying that then really you should follow another sport cos pretty much everyone else and all pundits agree. We dicked you in both our last 2 games against you. The 2-2 was an outright robbery with Suarez getting an undeserved late winner when he shouldn't have been on the pitch (along with Glen Johnson). So it is you son, that have the short memory.
Are you really as stupid as you sound? It's not just about the manager and players. It's about how all of the playing staff combine to ease the strain of an enlarged programme. That experience still survives within the club. You watched a very different game sonny! Eto should have been sent off in the first 5 minutes!!
So when was the last time Liverpool balanced a successful league campaign and did well in Europe? And who were the staff that contributed and still remain?
