Still, wouldn't it be better to try and get a player who's natural position is left back? In my opinion, playing a promising young player out of position (he can play there I know, but he's a left winger by trade and a bloody good one) isn't the way forward.

  2. Ofcourse, you know better than i do, what i've seen and what i haven't.

I watch football when ever it's on tv mate, and i've seen Neil Taylor play in quite a few games.

    I don't rate him.

How many times on how many articles has it been said that he's only likely to be cover for enriques replacement

  4. It doesn't matter. If he's first choice, i'll be disappointed, if he's cover, i'll also be disappointed because it will push Ferguson down another place in the pecking order. He's good in both positions, and Pardew rates him as a left back and a left winger.

It;s true i'd rather see him on the left wing, but he could make a good LWB also.

Every article i have read says that Taylor is not a first choice replacement for Jose, he is
'BACK UP' 'BACK UP' 'BACK UP'

  6. Yes, i know. But i've stated my reasons why i'd be disappointed with him as a back up even, and also, we're not any closer to finding Jose's replacement, so if we can't find another LB, it's likely we'll have Naylor first choice or another average one that isn't worth buying.

I would say every player we sign does deserve a chance :S

You can't judge every player from the championship as the same level as James Perch, you're just being stupid.
A season ago we were all saying, just because we're in the championship doesn't mean we have bad players, it applies to other teams too you know

I just can't see your problem with having him as second choice, think how much Simpson has improved this season. And anyway Ferguson will certainly get his chances in the first team this season in midfield or fullback

Also I'd be disappointed if we did try and steer Ferguson into a left-back role, I feel he'd be much more suited to the left-wing. It's the first player coming through the ranks for a while with the technical ability he seems to have, so to shove him into defensive duty would be daft

  10. For christ sake... i never said that i was doing that <doh>

I'm not just saying he's ****e because Perch was, i'm saying he's ****e because i've seen him playing in a number of games and he hasn't impressed me. I also only mentioned him getting sent off so people that don't know who he is can recognize him!

  11. I'd rather buy a quality LB and have Ferguson as cover mate, but at the end of the day my opinion doesn't matter. It's up to Pardew.

A couple of things, you won't get him on loan ever, you will have to buy him, and on that you won't get him for a million, we don't need to sell him at that price, we don't need the money, all his clause says is that he can talk to other clubs if a million offer comes in! Which leads to the next thing, I wouldn't be surprised if the agent or your club is reported for tapping up the player, I mean how did the toons know that clause was there?

Finally he was a non league player last year, he made good in the championship last season, he will be at the most a bench warmer for you, find £2m-£3m and I believe the swans will let him go!

What's the point in the clause being there if nobody is allowed to know about it?

It should be pointed out that Naylor isn't necessarily a £1m player. As I understand it he has a clause in his contract whereby he gets to talk to any team that makes a £1m bid.

However, Swansea value him at more than that and there is nothing to make them accept a bid of that value. We may have to pay Swansea's asking price to actually sign him. This also puts to bed any arguments linking his ability to Perch purely based upon being valued at this sum.

I agree with everyone when they say Fergie should be used as a winger, but the player himself said that he 'sees himself as a left back'. I think it was in the chronicle.
