Morning Everyone, How are we ? I'm glad the meet up at the Salters went without incident, and everyone had a good time. The weekend saw us scrap out a victory against Relegation favourites Millwall at Elland Road, and even though it sounds like we did not deserve the win, and the game was awful, we'll take the three points. After the game Millwall Manager Ian Holloway said the following our our plight âThey (Leeds) were on their knees. âIâve never sensed this place like that. They need to back their manager, get their life sorted out. âTheyâre a wonderful club but that ainât right. âStop causing havoc, support your manager whoâs a great bloke and sort your life out. âIâve never been to Leeds and they (have) felt that wobbly. And that hurts, because they were there and they slipped out the bag.â Have we slipped out of a bag It was reported last night by freelance journalist Simon Austin that the Football League were meeting last night to put to bed the Cellino takeover one way or another. It was reported that there was an Italian law specialist at the meeting... We'll have to wait and see...
Morning Elland. Glad all went well at Salters. Somewhat urked that I wasn't there. Someone has hinted that they may try to get the way the 'Wall get their tickets for our match made easier. So who knows? Maybe in 10 years time if the 'Wall get themselves out of L1, we'll be able to arrange a friendly meet up with them again.... albeit in a bigger pub to take account of all the zimmer frames! On Cellino, one way or another, I hope this gets sorted out soon. The uncertainty really isn't helping anyone. But we move on to Bournemouth tomorrow night, and I'm hoping that Smith lines up up top with Wickham and Ross does what he want's sitting behind them. We could then have a midfield 3 of Austin or Brown given that Austin needs a break and played with an injury, Mowatt and Murphy. Maybe Tonge instead of one of those two. But otherwise a 3 man midfield.
Morning all those scrappy 3 points should mean we are safe, I am getting too used to the season might as well be over feeling.
Morning all. Usual rubbish on Saturday, only difference seemingly, like Yeovil, opposition so dire we sneaked three points. Should we organise a whip around for players wages Friday or has superhaigh got a plan, or to be more accurate, has he anyone left to borrow from? Great to see the club is being so well run compared to the dark days under bates
Good morning from a very sunny BARDSEY.Very important result on Saturday as it has a great bearing on which league we will be playing in next season. I have said my feelings on the T/O saying he will get the nod hopefully today lets hope Mariner is not in charge he will probably reinstate BATES!
Morning all ... the real story is how will the result on Saturday affect Millwall? They seem to be up against it now, but four wins may just save them ... imagine Morison scoring a 91st minute winner on the final day to keep them up!!! As for SuperHaigh, still don't understand the hatred for the guy who has tried his best to get GFH out of the club (he must have seen what they were doing, probably going against what was agreed when they first bought Leeds), and who unselfishly pumped in millions out of his own pocket to keep us afloat when GFH were running around like headless chickens on a Venkys farm ... now, I ain't Tory, probably never will be, but Haigh has been made an unfair target because of his politics rather than what he's trying to do for our club ... he's been let down by GFH and Flowers, he brought Cellino to the table, and yes, he clearly hasn't a clue how to use twitter, but his heart seems to be in the right place ... I'd have Haigh ahead of Harvey anytime!! At least Haigh will learn how to interact with fans, slow down on getting excited and blurting things out when he's told he has a deal in place only to find he's working with turncoats ... he needs to stop being too trusting of ****ers like GFH and Flowers whose only motivation seems to be cash ... Haigh has put more money into our club in his short time than Bates ever did, he fought to keep Ross when GFH were still listening to offers, he saved the women's team and brought them back into the fold, etc .... chances are that if Cellino fails and Farnan buys us Haigh will have to sell his shares and leave, but I for one am grateful that he took personal risks to try and better our club, it's a darn sight more than most have done for us over the last decade!! Like him or not, Haigh's not a bad guy, just naive to how things work in the football world, but that can be fixed with experience ... as Bates showed us though, a bad guy is a bad guy, regardless ... Another shyte performance but how much credence do you give the Holloway theory, and now BMcD saying the same: We fans are upset and unsure what's happening behind the scenes which is effecting the players? MY understanding is that the FL are due to meet about this on Wednesday, but there may have been some preliminaries taking place yesterday between legal teams so that the FL have everything they need? Who knows but Cellino will walk if its not sorted this week and if he does expect a collapse. Lets face facts folks; the Football League put s into this mess because they allowed the poorest arabs in the world to buy us. A bank with no customers and no cash ffs. The FL are to blame and so they should allow this deal to happen otherwise we could go under on their watch because of them
If an outsider were to read a list of our players like Butland,, Wickham, Byram, McCormack, Mowatt, Warnock etc they would think we'd have quite a tasty team easily capable of promotion. Players like Diouf, White, Tonge, Norris and Pugh must be on huge wages, with no hope of first team action. These players SHOULD be performing a lot, lot better then they actually are! Are they being mismanaged? Would the behind the scenes takeover effect their play?
Not sure why people thought there would be incident we are all grown men (apart from glory) even glory surprisingly haha
They have had our case on their desks for weeks and weeks why on earth would they rush a meeting on a Sunday. that guy is a credible source tbh but that deffo seems like bull ****
Afternoon all Had a hectic morning and only just logged on and saw "takeover off". No idea what's gonna happen now. I'll stick the match thread for tomorrow up early afternoon then we can at least try and talk about a bit of football. Not good news though, whether you wanted Cellino or not, this raises some serious financial questions.
