We will probably win, you can usually count on us beating the lower end teams, and then afterwards patting ourselves on the back thinking we're God's gift to football.
You know it's true, beating the lower end teams and usually playing good footy against them is the norm for us, but when it comes to crunch time against the top top top teams and when it matters, we become like kittens, men against boys. Just look at our record against the top sides in the last 3 seasons and it speaks for itself. You don't like the truth, YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH.
Once Arsenal change it first, can't change the record can I when Arsenal keep playing it? BOOM. Sure I could talk out of my ass and say I see roses and I see light and I see happiness and I see greatness and WE WILL DO IT, but that **** talk's been going on for how long? When I see it, I'll believe it, until then, I'll speak of reality.
Whatever happens at the end of the season, we need CL football to attract a top striker (and maybe a top manager?). Therefore we need to beat every 'lesser' team between now and the final game. Seems pretty uncontroversial to me. I think the players owe us a top performance and if the last two humiliations are anything to go by, we usually respond well.
Obviously we need to win, and I think we will but I'm just stating the fact, that with Arsenal, such wins are fairly routine for us, you can expect Arsenal to dispatch the lesser teams no doubt, but when it comes to crunch time against the top sides, well... At least we have a chance on Saturday to make that right by beating City.
Need more than a win. Need to hammer Swansea. I am talking 4/5-0. Like Hans said we need some confidence before city game.
I would take a 1-0 dodgy penalty at this point. Just need the points to stay clear of spurds and get to the summer. We seem to say the same thing at this point every season though..
don't really see the point in that. even if giroud doesn't start, he will be on the bench with sanogo up front. akpom's probably been recalled for reserve or youth fixtures.
The one thing we have done well this season is bounce back from heavy defeats and that's something we haven't done well before. We used to go into meltdown after a defeat, so you have to say we've improved on that this season. Yes playing the big teams is still a problem for us, but if we win all of our games against 'lower' teams between now and the end of the season, then we will be FA cup winners and we'll finish the league in a healthy position.
