Yep. This and a couple of injuries. Though Soldado's touch is great, I'm delighted Adebayor wasn't there today....
Don't exaggerate. Sloppy goals killed us. You cannot concede a goal like we did so early in the second half.
It is too many, though part of that story is that we have an odd habit of taking leads against teams that you wouldn't expect us to beat...11 of those points, off the top of my head, were against Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal.
Well yes, but we never regained momentum after the goal which was because nobody out there could grip the game in midfield (or get a grip of Eriksen).
Norwich But yeah, I can only recall late goals against Norwich, SUnderland and WBA. Only WBA was a winner and that was a penalty. When we get to 70 minutes, I accept that we won't get any more goals.
Yes but once you concede, Spurs have that confidence to go and attack for the win, making it difficult for us to get a grip of the game. First half they were great in midfield. Defence has let us down badly today - Clyne, and Lovren especially.
Obviously thought we would go on and loose, but then I was lulled into thinking that we may get the draw. Oh well. It's getting tiresome this throwing games away, but is it something we have to continually live with, if inconsistency is the reason due to the young squad? We seem to have this solid niche in the league at the moment (for some time) where we beat who we are expected to and don't get anything from the teams above us. Hope we can break this hoodoo before the end of the season.
No, that wasn't my point. Even at 2-1, we still had control of the game and were looking to go forward, but once they got back level, and so early as well, it is difficult to stem the tide.
Replays show Lovren at fault for all three goals. Two trying to turn in a corner, the third he jumps over the ball. Deep joy.
Still need to get the midfield battle won. For the record, I didn't think we were in control after they made it 2-1. If you read back a few pages I posted that we'd stopped passing and pressing. Half time came at a good time for us.
Certainly, we missed Schneiderlin, but if we had defended well, we could have won this game. Saying that, Spurs ****ed up for our goals too.
