Had a heated debate about how we voted last night with a couple of mates in the pub. We've all been going for years, love the club, go to away games and give it everything. One is even the brother of a City legend. It was a mix of NO and Not Bothered or, to be accurate, just plain sick of ****ing hearing about it all. The conclusion reached was how the **** have a group of men with the same amount of emotional investment, passion and love for the same club ended up arguing about it from different angles? Divide and conquer. That's the real **** of it all. You can argue all you like on here because in the main you'll never meet your opponent and the rhetoric becomes amplified from behind a username, but face to face with your mates - nah, that's just wrong.
Yes. ============== ‘Thank you for taking the time to give us your opinion on our future playing name. The Ballot will close next week and results will be presented to Season card holders as soon as possible’ Thanks, Assem and Ehab Allam
I don't actually know what colours he had in mind, I just know it's one of things he looked at immediately after he bought the club, but he was told you don't mess with a football clubs colours. He was told you don't mess with their names either, but he seems to have ignored that advice.
One thing that's becoming more and more obvious as we move towards the denouément of this whole shebang, is that the remaining pro-name changers will seemingly stop at nothing to try and muddy the CTWD waters, but only succeed in thrashing about like a swimmer with St Vitus Dance. Only this morning someone took to Twitter to accuse the FA Membership Committee of being openly corrupt in their decision against the name change, yet when pressed on the matter suddenly went quiet. How odd. Oh, and Happy Tiger, having spoke to 2 of CTWD's more prominent members after the game yesterday, you'll be pleased to know that their plans to storm the boardroom, tip Assem Allam out of his bathchair and take over the club are going swimmingly *winky-smiley face*
I'm presuming the new badge will be the Tiger's head? If the name change debacle wasn't happening I'd have no problem with that as I think it'll look great on an old school Umbro shirt. Or any other kit manufacturer.........
To be fair, Hull FC's change to Hull Sharks utlimately lead to a change from being a team not good enough to get into the top flight, to a secure mid table team. The fact they went out of business and had to be taken as a franchise and now exist as a renamed Gateshead Thunder in between is a minor detail.
So it's ok to go with your principles but not someone else's? The name to me and many others is sacrosanct, colours wouldn't bother me too much, but I would at least understand why others would be unhappy.
It's still a tiger, but I don't know if it's the current one, half a dozen different designs were done, some of which were appalling, but I don't know which one was ultimately selected.
We've actually changed colours once in our history, the first season after WWII when Amber dye was in short supply, therefore we played in sky blue shirts for that one season.
Our first kit in 1904 was a white shirt, with black shorts and socks, we used that kit again for the 1921-22 season, we also had a blue shirt with white shorts and blue/white hooped socks for the 1935-36 season, along with the light blue kit that you mentioned immediately after WW2.
surely if CTWD are so adament that the FA are going to reject the name change, and they aren't Anti-Allam, surely they would just say yes on the ballot, to make Allam happy, and see him fail through the FA. That way, everyone's a winner!
AA wants to use the vote result to challenge the FA decision, anyone who thinks this has gone on long enough should vote No, I can't believe any City fan wants this bollocks to run on for another year.
Maybe the vote will, maybe it won't, we shall see. IMO i think a lot of people are for the name change against those who arent. Other football fans wont be included in this ballot, as wont a lot of supporters of CTID, simply because a majority aren't season pass holders. My personal opinion is, they deserve a chance to do what they like. If it doesn't work, fine, change it back. Proven with the Barmby appointment, gave him a chance, didn't work, changed it. Someone said to me the other day, the club should get the local area marketing up a lot more, my simple answer was 'there's no money in the local area.' Allams are going for the jackpot of the Asian Market, if and I repeat IF, it pulls off, OUR football club will be hugely beneficial to it. IF NOT, we are still the same club, in the Premier League with a brilliant team and manager, with the same great owner, only for a name to still be Hull, but not City, Tigers. For me, its worth the risk. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work, changed back, no harm done. You go down South, up north, over seas, and someone asks you, 'who do you support' we simply reply 'City,' they say one thing... 'Manchester?' City are known as Manchester City, the same as United is known as Manchester United, they have built there clubs brand around there name, simply because they have the millions to do it. If you was to say 'Tigers' then I'm sure it will catch on. I know its against tradition, but sadly the game has changed, its all about the money.
======= Just ask yourself the simple question do you prefer HULL CITY or HULL TIGERS.. Then vote your answer Forget all the will he stay or will he go stuff. I prefer HULL City. So I voted no to HULL Tigers . I hope everyone will ignore the will he go or will he stay stuff. And this Is from someone who hopes he stays. Who isn't in CTWD . And has always been for AA No one prefers HULL TIGERS. not on here or in the real world. Don't vote your not bothered even if previous you have not been bothered. You either prefer HULL CITY or HULL TIGERS simple as that. Vote not bothered and your vote will be used as being for the name change.
I can't be arsed to read your whole post totallyHCAFC, but in your opening line where you say you think most the people who are for the name change, are because they're against those opposing it, I think you're absolutely spot on. And I think it's all down to the absolute rubbish and bile some of those opposing it have been spouting. Not CTWD, but individuals drooling utter ****e over the past few months, some of the bollockswould be easy to swayour opinion to be against those. Sadly, as I predicted at the start, these individuals and CTWD are getting coined together as one and the same. You really should have distanced yourselves from the potty mouths OLM/Obi.
It's a shame we'll never find out, as our owners didn't have the confidence to give people a free vote, they had to blackmail them to try and get the outcome they wanted. It's a bullshit idea, being pushed by a bloke motivated by hatred, not by reasoned business thinking.
