I got this from E-Tims, it's a better summary of this non-story than I can be bothered making. Might take our mind of a somewhat troubling interview with the Daily Record, which curiously has no journalist credited to it. The headline is a traditional eyecatcher; The implication is that he is checking his phone every day for calls. This reads like a âcome and get me â plea. As though he thinks that the EPL chairman think he is unavailable. so far, though, no direct quotesâ¦. Did he ? Where ? Still no quotes, just a cunning lead up that implies that this was the conversation they were having until a suitable quote comes up. Implying that his time at Celtic is an apprenticeship for the EPL. It does sound a wee bit like he wants to work in England. Noticably, the actual questions he is answering are not in the article, just a summation of them.
I will be honest I think he is going to leave in the summer. He has been making noises that he wants another challenge. Hopefully not as I like him as a manager.
What is the fascination with managing in the premiership? You are lucky to get 2 years in the job and unless you have massive amounts of money to spend you can't do anything. Look at all the promising managers that have had their careers ruined by going to a premiership team.
Just read the original article in The Mirror, a somewhat different slant on the Record rewrite. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/celtic-boss-neil-lennon-wants-3269732
