I know this is one of those repeated debates but I was sat on the bus after today's game. It was the dirty 30 so I probably should have expected it, so anyway a man and his son got on decked out in city colours with flag in hand.

What got me was, they sat down behind me and they started talking about arsenal, it became apparent they both were big arsenal fans. Not one mention of today's game, just about arsenal so their game, who scored, if they'll win the league, how the teams around them did blah blah. They even used the words 'our next game' 'we should beat them' which is what we all use when speaking about the football really.

So it got me thinking, is it okay to support TWO teams?

If the other team is a national side, yes.

If the other team is a club side, **** no.

It's fine liking another team, but you don't support them.

I like loads of teams, but I could never support them.

No. I dunno how you can support 2 teams in the same league.

If city meet Arsenal in the final who will they support you reckon?

I am quite happy if fans of lower league teams also want to support the mighty Hull City AFC.

Well we play arsenal at home soon, I wonder what they'll wear for that game.

I don't agree with two teams either, I understand supporting one and 'following' another as I always look out for Preston's results since I live there

What if they are actually Arsenal fans, who have moved to Hull. Then as its far easier to watch City they do so on a regular basis....

To be honest i don't really care if others support other teams also, thats up to them. I know even though i have moved 10,500 km away, i still only follow one team, buts thats me and what others do is up to them.

I couldn't and I thought nobody really could, but my brother in law is a Leeds fan(he is from Leeds) who is currently a season ticket holder at Arsenal. He lives in London and has done for many years, my nephew is a big football fan and Arsenal are his local team, so he wanted to go and his Dad now takes him to every home game.

When we played Arsenal away I met the family for dinner before the game and he was talking about Arsenal as if they were his team, which I took great joy in winding him up about, but in reality, I can understand how taking his lad every week, he ended up supporting them.

It's probably easy, as the two teams are poles apart at the moment, but he's still more of a Leeds fan and if the two meet in the cup, he's going to have a right fall out with his lad. <laugh>

Not two teams but an old mate of mine, the whole family were die hard Man U fans, none of them had ever been to a game, house covered in little Man U memorabilia things, always wearing their Man U shirts, you know the full package.

Anyway the son/brother in law, proper leicester fan, obviously brough the niece/granddaughter up properly and took her to City. For whatever reason, my mate and his dad both ended up going with them or taking her when her dad was away and within a month or two they all became proper leicester fans.

It's a nice story really, it's a bit like a drug rehabilitation success. Definitely a success for football.

I always thought my old man supported Sunderland, but he gets pissed off when I call him a Mackem even though he was born and bred up South Shields way.

He took me to City when I was younger and the rest is history.

If and only if they're a non league side or a foreign side. I'd support/watch the non league side where I live (Worksop Town FC) but they're also called The Tigers and I think I might get a little confused.

    Support, no, soft spots ok..

I've watched other sides living abroad but to be honest my whole existence is based on Hull City, I just don't have the desire, time or energy to devote anything like this to another club..

I might check their results (Göztepe in Turkish League 3) but the emotional bond's not the same..

hmm interesting point, but till you know the full story, maybe you should keep your nose out.
maybe you should have jumped up and confronted them. A swift kick to the fathers family jewels should have made you feel better.
TIP.... next time, carry a bonfire with you and then you can throw the next plastic bastard on there, that doesn't meet up to your exacting requirement.
Then you can start goose-stepping around.

I follow & support Hull City AFC as much as I can, however I do have soft spots for other teams but don't actually go to watch anyone else unless it's a free ticket. I do however hope that other teams win against our relegation rivals so I was quite happy with how the results panned out Yesterday, however if we'd have lost then I wouldn't have been so up as I am at the moment.

Got to admit I always HOPE Leicester City win..

    Never against us of course.

It nothing to do with footy reasons, more the situation a good friend is in
Who is a Leicester City supporter.

Vital they get into the premier league as soon as possible..

Not intrested even a tiny bit about any other team.

I really like Barnsley I have a good friend that supports them and love going to the well with her anytime I'm home obviously not in the same way that I support Hull City but I like to see them scrapping every season to stay up. It's a club with a lot of heart but sadly this season I think they are down

I think the difference is that in the OP they were decked out in City colours. If as a City fan my kid I'd moved to Newcastle and my kid was a Newcastle fan then I could see me taking him to games and even being happy when they won (providing it wasn't against us), but I wouldn't wear their colours to go to games with him. I'd just wear normal clothes and let him have the colours if he wanted.

From my own point of view I'm also a Dunfermline fan, but that's obviously a foreign club that's not competition to us, and it's my local club now.
