Target for Brucey is 38. Personally I think we could stay up with the 33 we already have - doubtful that Sunderland, Cardiff or Fulham will get enough points in their remaining matches to catch us even if we lost our last 8. Next three matches will be crucial - 4 points should do it. West Ham (A) - 1 point Stoke (A) - 0 Swansea (H) - 3 Arsenal (H) - 0 Fulham (A) - 3 Villa (A) - 0 Man U (A) - 0 Everton (H) - 1 Thoughts?
I'd say Swansea (h) and Fulham (a) are our best bets for 3 points. We should be able to get a couple of draws from the other six games. 8 points and 41 on the season. 12th place. Cardiff and Fulham to go down...third spot wide open.
since i predicted Norwich for the drop they have had some good results ! and i had Sunderland crawling out of the drop zone
Sunderland fans might be quietly babbing themselves, just about now. A quick look at who they've got left = Man City, Everton, Liverpoo, Man U + chuck in Spurs as a 'top 6' team They've also got a few 6 pointers (even though they will only be playing for 3) against Cardiff Swansea and West Brom. They can't keep 11 men on the pitch, so should see a couple of reds against West Ham. And lose. They're fooked I tell thee. Fooked.
Interesting, that it was just six weeks ago or so, this board had a minor infestation of Sunlan fans crowing about how they’d clawed back a 9/10 pt we had over them; and how it was just a matter of games before they overtook us on the road to our own damnation. In addition, we were constantly told how they’d beat us XI v XI. Constantly. Yet when we dumped them head first out of the cup, 3-0, we were without our two main strikers. So, we’ve now pretty much restored the points gap and if you look on their main forum (RTG) that hyper-emotional bunch are going into major meltdown (again). The infatuation with Gus Poyet has soured to the extent a majority of them want him sacked. No doubt, in a year or two when Poyet is managing someone else, they’ll despise him like they do Bruce. For Sunderland the cycle continues.
Having done a predictor....we finished a very creditable 13th on 39 pts Pts 13 Hull City 39 14 West Brom 37 15 Norwich 36 16 Swansea 35 17 Sunderland 32 18 Palace 31 relegated 19 Fulham 30 ditto 20 Cardiff 28 ditto
Just did a predictor. Had you lot in a top half finish somehow Game to watch for me is Sunderland vs Swansea last day of the season. Winner stays up IMO!
Aye, I think Norwich will go down just because of those 4 games. I see the relegation battle still raging at that point with them still involved (we should hopefully be comfortable by then) and they can't afford to lose points.
We're 8 points clear, but with our decent goal difference it's effectively 9 points. 1 more win and we're safe. Hopefully, we do it before the semi final.
Cardiff....Fulham...Sunderland Bye bye City to win 4 more games.... We are staying up. Also get to the fa cup final with a chance that just maybe... We might just go and win..maybe. *
I know what you're saying although it's more like being 8.5 pts clear - if a team 8 points behind us scores 9 more than us they're ahead of us - if they score 8 points more they're behind us
I still want us to get 38/39 points to be absolutely sure but I think another win might be enough with our gd, however I expect us to knock on against all the teams that we have left to play & get 40+ by the end of the season.
