You're "back" every few weeks I know Fergie gave the team great comeback ability but I think Moyes misunderstood the concept
I think the reason for this, is slightly psychological and slightly down to the fact we have lacked creativity to break down sides that come to OT and park the bus, and we are then conceding to them on the counter. I think though the more we've struggled at home the pressure from the fans has got to the players, which hasn't helped. I think the players now prefer playing away as there's less pressure, and more space for them to express themselves. Our home form will have to be sorted out if we are going to turn things around next season, and get back involved in the title picture. I don't expect us to win it next season, I just expect us to be competitive and comfortably in the top 4
12th at home apparently. Poor to say the least. Shouldnt be too hard to turn the home form around. Just need a big win to get things going. Agree that next season we will be top 4 comfortably but wouldnt be surprised in the slightest if we did win it. Would be typical.
I assume your expecting a manager change before next season though, or are you warming to Moyes like me
Nah I expect a manager change or at the very least a major addition to the coaching staff to 'assist' moyes. I was working on the assumption someone else is manager, yes.
I'm still on the fence with Moyes, I really do wanna see him succeed, just to shut up some of our rivals. Though I can see that maybe a change could help. I don't think the board will sack Moyes though, I really don't, not before atleast Xmas time, so well into next season, if we're still struggling
I would love him to succeed but I cant see it. He might win a cup or two along the way if we stick with him but thats about it. Someone new though, with a clear idea of what they want to do at a club like united. Look at what happens when similar clubs or indeed ourselves, have that in place.
Let Moyes strengthen in the summer and judge him on next season. Hell of an upheaval of our squad needed though.
There isnt a hell of an overhaul needed though. Im judging moyes on what hes been able to do with a championship winning squad of players. Im not desperately making up imaginary excuses for him.
The big problem is the next transfer window. If, as rumours suggest, there is upwards of £100mill in the pot what sort of player is Moyes going to buy when he plainly doesn't yet know what style of football he wants the side to play. Are we going for an impenetrable midfield and an incisive attack or are we going to play tippy tappy stuff all through the side. The other big question is do you give him the money and risk him blowing it, in which case we need a new manager and to spend more money on the players he wants..... or do you just get rid of Moyes now and let the new man spend the cash. It could end up saving us £100mill.
