Jackson plays a one-two with The Asteroid but it's on his right foot and his shot is way off-target.

    Kightly scores :(

Goes past his man and his cross is deflected off Jackson before going over Hamer.

    0-3 :(

    Full time 0-3

A comfortable victory for Burnley, much as it was in September. Not an awful performance from Charlton by any means, but once again we lack a real goalscoring threat, which Burnley possess in abundance even without Ings.

Look forward to hearing from those who were there.

Sale of Yann is always going to come up after stuff like this, but not scored from open play since 1st Feb, sold Yann and nothing is happening at all. We aren't scoring that's for sure, and it's clear now it wasn't Powell's fault for the lack of goals,
We have no strike force since Yann has gone, no one we can rely on to pop out of nowhere and get the goal. We will go down unless one of our strikers realises where the goal is.
Church - Like him, Runs and Runs and causes trouble, But I'm more likely to bed Natalie Portman than him to score
Sordell - We started to get a bit excited he seemed to be running under Jose... but alas, he's gone back to not doing anything
Tudgay - Good cameo against QPR not heard much since
Reza - Too lightweight for English football, god help him if we go down and he has to play against MK Dons and Scunny defenders
Polish Pete - Will we ever see him
Obika - For some reason he's been held up as the best thing since sliced bread

We aren't going to score simple as... we are relying on those below us being worse than we are now

Thought it a very poor performance apart from Poyet the rest were pretty poor to be honest .
Poyet got synically ally fouled in the first half which I presume lead to his substitution at least I hope that was the reason as best player on the pitch by a country mile.
Church one on one at 0 0 would put money on him missing and he did !
Burnley never needed to try to be honest though 3 0 flattered them.

The ref forgot to bring his cards with him. That late tackle on Poyet was at least a yellow. Our best chance was when Church did all the hard work, cut in along the byline then miscued a simple 5-yard pass to Obika which would have meant an almost certain goal. After that we never posed any threat from open play. I don't think it makes much difference what strikers play, none of them can beat a man or make space, the crowd went quiet because it was so easy for Burnley.

Awful performance apart from Poyet and the Hamer save,

Church must be the worst striker ever to play for us. His miss today when thru summed up his pitiful lack of ability.

    50/50 we stay up.

Change that word to 'finisher' and I agree with you. When he's through on goal his foot seems to turn into that of a 5-year-old trying to kick a ball that's too big for him.

His all round play is OK though, I think. He's certainly better than some of the strikers we had in League 1.

That had better not be a sly dig at Dave Mooney!

Mooney missed some glaring chances but also scored some really good goals, and I didn't think he was that bad.

Abbott had one really good game at home to Peterborough but was otherwise awful.

Good game? You mean good 2nd half haha.

Surely Hasslebank was worse than Church is... or Chris Iwelumo... couldn't time a jump to save his life

Of course, yes, he came on at half time and really changed the game. One of Powell's most inspired substitutions <whistle>

No but he has scored some late goals as a sub and crucial ones I remember last season, a bit unfair Obika's second game on loan. I'm sure Notts Forest will see Jose back to winning ways.

Not denying what he did, and not saying this after 2 games back on his 2nd loan, I said this from the start, I don't see why everyone was so excited, it was a striker yes, but his goal scoring record isn't exactly setting the world alight and people were like YES! A proven quality striker!

Today was **** for various reasons: the result, the Burnley fans in the west upper, the useless stewards...

In fact, I don't really remember much about the second half - I was too busy controlling my fury.

    Actually, I'm still seething now.
