I sit in the East Stand but arrive to the stadium from West Park end (north west corner).

Am I supposed to walk all the way around to my entrance like I have been doing for the last 6-7 years? Or can I cut from the north stand where the away fans are? I was always under the impression the gates were shut.

Silly question but something which popped in my head when walking up today.

The gates are usually open before a game with a few exceptions

Do you mean at full time or before the game? Gates are always open pre match. Only shut for around 10 minutes at full time until the away fans depart

End of the game is a joke as the away fans can just walk around the fence and mingle with home fans , the only people inconvenienced are the home fans

I have never had a problem getting to the East Stand that way before a game

That's the last of the concerns of the Humberside Police

Why do we now get an exodus of home fans leaving from E1 and E2 with ten minutes left plus any injury time? They don't leave from the back of the stand either , so its not a quick get a way they are after, they walk along the front of the East Stand like a funeral procession.
Cannot they bring themselves to applaud the team off the pitch like the rest of us ?

Because the gates to the North East corner are shut and its the only way out if they want to get away quickly at the end of the match. I usually sit down after applauding the players off for 5 minutes. I then go to the toilet watch the tele till its switched off and then spend 5 minutes, sometimes ten waiting for the gates to open so I can have my tea.

Its all for my own protection, allegedly.

I think it was the Aston Villa game you would have done. After the game I was having a big rant about it being ridiculous and no better treatment than we got at Huddersfield only to glance at the police van parked at the top of the drive from Walton Street. "West Yorkshire Police" plastered on the side of it. Let's just say the driver wasn't impressed with my reaction, particularly when his "Do you mind?" comment out his window to the first part was greeted with a very honest answer about my views of WYP that there was no comeback to.
