I think the maximum points we will take this season is 35. Will that keep us up? Its certainly touch and go, squeaky bum time!

At the moment I'm struggling to see where our next point is coming from. Norwich is a MUST win or were doomed!!!!

Norwich, Hull, Aston Villa, Southampton, Sunderland and even Newcastle is a possibility...

Norwich is NOT a must win. And we're NOT doomed if we loose against them. The name of the team is irrelevant. What is relevant is that we should have another three wins. That should be possible with eight matches remaining. Five/six of them are definitively winnable. I don't give a **** if we win against Arsenal and loose against Norwich. The season is not over till its over and there will always be a possibility as long as there is a possibility. The "mustwin"-games is created by media. "If you don't win that game you are doomed" - bullshit! The suddenly you win the next game and you're back on track. I hate that "must-win"-****. It's not true!!!

I'd be very surprised if you lose to us next week our away form is absolutely pants!
We did play very well today at home but unless it changes soon our away form is what's dragging us into the relegation scrap.
But that said it's normally a decent game between our teams?

So if we lose to Arsenal and Norwich your not worried, that will be 1 win in 11. If thats not relegation form then nothing is. We must take points off our immediate opposition thus dragging them closer to the relegation zone and us pulling away from it.

I'm not saying I don't care if we take points or not, I'm saying that i don't care who we take the points from. Whether it is Arsenal or Norwich I don't care and it's not important. I want us to win the next three matches, but if we don't we're not doomed. We're doomed if we are in the bottom three after the last match of the season is played. Of course it is a advantage to win against teams in a lower position than you, but at the end of the day the most important thing is that your point total is better then the bottom three....

PS! My criticism is not directed towards you personally. I'm just tired of the "if you don't win THAT match, your going down/your not going to win the league" - type of comment.

We didn't beat Palace WBA Everton and now we don't need to beat Norwich ,so when do you suggest we start to win ? ( I've omitted Arsenal because it's very likely we'll have the backlash from they result against Chelsea), we're running out of games I'm afraid and to be reliant on others around us to lose is not good policy ,a losing streak can/does have a negative effect on a team and I'd rather be on a winning one starting as soon as possible other wise heads will drop further the support from the stands becomes negative and the results are harder to gain with a lack of control on the pitch ( as witnessed today at times with our defending )

I think we're good for two wins. But it's completely evident to everyone now that monk is tactically inept.

I think, the starting team should be:

    Vorm
    Rangel, Chico, Ash, Davies
    Britton, Shelvey
    Dyer, michu, Routledge
    Bony

What this does is gives us more depth, because his selections have left us with little options if a change is needed.

Hernandez starting leaves us with no real options out wide.

Canas can come in later in the game to give us defensive cover. Doing it too early or when we're chasing the game is a no no!

Tell bony to only conserve energy for the right chance. Not to run around like a headless chicken (like Graham did)

monks tactics are too predictable. We need to mix it up!

Technically we don't have to start wining before the three last games, don't you agree? Or do you think we need more than 9 points?

9 more points would be an abundance of points to keep us up imo . The bottom 3 now , will be the 3 that go down imo , Sunderland have a horrible shedule left , even with games in hand.

Hopefully that will then lead to Ki and Poyet coming here.

There are at least 3 or 4 winnable games left for us, and I'm sure we will get enough points to stay up, I'm not panicking yet!..................<ok>

I want to thank Norwich for thumping Sunderland too, well done you Canaries!..............<cheers>

Whats wrong with playing Taylor and give Davis a rest or move him over to center instead of chico he's costing us points give him a rest the mad twat. As I see it if Taylor don't get game time he going to want a transfer and we cant afford to lose him, does Taylor get on with monk or is he in his bad books. Unless the monky sorts this out we would struggle to get a point v Arsenal plus will have trouble beating Norwich and they are a hard team to beat as we know and that my friends could be us gone.

Let's not try to kid ourselves here. Hope is not a strategy and that's all we have ... hope. Hope that Monk will get a clue. Hope that the terrible trio of Cardiff, Fulham and Sunderland will continue to be terrible. Hope that some of our opposition are going to have an off day. Hope that we stop making stupid mistakes defensively and crack down and keep some clean sheets.

It's all hope because we are now 1 win in 8 or 9 or whatever it is and it doesn't look like changing any time soon. We were all over Everton today for long stretches, we should have won going away, yet we tactically couldn't pull that string that gave us the lead and then the victory.

35 points .... seems a hell of a long way off to me.

Your fixtures contain a lot of teams who will have nothing to play for unlike Sunderland who have six of the top seven plus four at the bottom. It's easy to get down after a defeat but how many home points do Everton drop.I think yiou will end high thirties and that will be enough.

Given the chances we created you could argue Yankee that tactics were fine, it was the defensive mistakes and lack of cutting edge that cost us. If we create numerous chances and dominate the game, that would suggest that tactics were fine.

Valley defence wins games, at the moment we cannot hold a lead or play for a draw. I have a sneaking suspicion that 35 points will be enough, added bonus is the goal difference ML left us with.
