I thought that was your Christmas do? Been meaning to ask how it went and you've not yet been.

Nothing so fancy for me, on a course all week so am stopping in a premier Inn. Full English every morning, **** butties every dinner and no idea for tea. It's a old steak house pub, had rib eye last night which was ok. Not sure what to go for tonight. Will drink ale with it though while watching United lose.

Had duck and froi grais parfait, with toasted brioche and orange chutney to start. Mains I had his signature dish of rare slow cooked duck breast, served with a duck fat chips, Savoy cabbage which had crunch bits of ham hock in, duck fat chips and gravy. For dessert I had glazed apple tart with burnt butter ice cream.

The whole shebang was literally out of this world. I wept tears of joy as I was eating it.

Also had an appetiser of deep fried white bait served with their home made soda bread and salted butter.

    Made a healthy tea tonight.

Made a quiche but instead of pastry I used cous cous as the base. The filling was shallot, chorizo and mushroom. Had a fillet of poached smoked haddock with it. Was tremendous.

Well, I came home from that course after having had four pints a night and pub food for tea, hotel breakfast and sliced bread butties at dinner thinking we'd eat something nice and healthy.

Steak and kidney pie, chips and gravy and a couple of glasses of wine later and I think I might have put on a pound or two !

About to watch the last Line of Duty.

Missed it last night, will watch the rerun on Sunday. I've lost a bit of weight the last couple of weeks. Not been drinking really and cut out the crap. Gone down a notch on my belt buckles back to wher it was previously to christmas.

What's BFF? I thought that was best friends forever, you childish git!!

I won't put in a spoiler on Line of Duty Sweats, other than to say if you'd watched the first series and knew what I knew it was slightly more clear. And there there are openings for series 3.

Food wise, all I know is that there will be no bread for a good while. **** that ****e.

Porridge for breakfast and I think I'll treat myself to a salad with some fish or chicken for dinner.

Ahh, the good old days. I remember fondly when I used to do that.

You don't work for a local authority by any chance do you?

Made a roast chorizo and red pepper risotto to go with chicken breast for tea tonight.

    It was tre ****ing mendous.

Did ruin it by taking the kids to ****donalds this afternoon for dinner and partook of one myself but what the ****, eh?

Risotto accompanied by a nice dry Pinot Grigio, a quarter of which went into said risotto.

  18. My kids are obsessed with McDonalds. And no, its not because of me, its the mrs' (not married) and her families fault. Given the choice, I won't go to the fast food places bar Subway.

My kids go once a fortnight, tops. And I do view with disdain the parents who are there with their already overweight children, it's hard not too.

I'm certainly not holier than thou about it though, I eat the **** myself, although usually the occasional breakfast rather than the burgers, which always disappoint.

What can I say, it's cheap and convenient and the kids see it as an occasional treat and enjoy?
I would never let them eat it often though because the evidence is there in front of your eyes as to what it can do to you do.

Today I had a cottage cheese salad with a boiled egg. Porridge for breakfast.

Will no doubt have four pints watching the match tonight though and **** it up.
