Yes, ref was generous to us - he was lucky to escape a 2nd yellow for simulation, as was Morrison for a nasty challenge late on, also Kranky earlier. No flies on Suk Yun, nice to see he doesn't get out muscled off the ball like Benny & Carroll. As ever, wearing my rose tinted glasses, I finally got the right result in the prediction league, and two of the goal scorers.
Before anyone gets too excited, they played their part and went forward and left a lot of space for us to attack. They didnt just stick 10 behind the ball like most do and wigan will probably do next game. Yun was good though, fast and didnt do much wrong. Keane was just awful, he doesnt even look like a pro player.
You were listening to the biased commentator right? It wasn't a nasty challenge from Morrison at all, Carroll didn't intentionally dive- it was more of a coming together, and Kranky didn't deserve a red. The commentator had a vendetta against Kranjkar for the entire game, it was bizarre.
I have Yaya, Skirtle, Baines, Suarez, Sturridge, Barkley and Hazard in mine. 2 hat-tricks and a goal a piece for the rest. Now if Carrick, Rodriguez and Sharwcross can score that's the whole team!
ive seen players sent off for those types of things but the ref was wrong on carroll, it was a clear dive with zero contact. kranky was close to going too and morrisons was nowhere near a 2nd yellow. If that was against us, wed be baying for a red. I dont think the commentator was biased at all.
I was definitely concerned though, for all three of them, since in another game, with a different ref, one of them could have easily picked up a 2nd yellow. For his caution Barton should have just stayed out of it, as was the case for his continued protestations after Dunne was sent off at Sheff Wed - if anyone needs to talk to the ref, that's Clint's responsibilty as team captain.
The irony is that after a great away win and best match of the season, thats the most negative after match post.
With the Hammers at HT currently 2-0 down to Man Utd and struggling for points to stave off relegation, I really hope they don't decide to register their 28 day notice to pull the plug on Ravel Morrison's loan.
Great win, was watching Gillette Soccer Saturday and the usual 'there has been a goal at the riverside' from Jeff - normally never our luck but finally we got it, and by the sounds of it a poor mistake! We will take it though! Now to continue and get a result against Wigan.
Missed the first ten minutes helping a friend move, then was not too impressed with 80 minutes, thinking about all the negative things I was thinking of writing and then 'Boro gift us the points. Now I am sooo happy and counting the days to the play-offs. Just call me Mr. Fickle. Yun should keep his place. Morrison is going to win us promotion. Keene should be put on the next train from Euston. The ref was not on our side. Their player held on to the ball when Ravel asked him for it back, he grabbed Ravel around the throat and went on a Barton-style rampage: Three yellows, himself, Barton and Ravel. Wtf? BZ is a goal-machine. When Charlie comes back we will start winning regularly. Beer time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that our first half performance was not that good. It was slow and predictable as so many times after november. Second half was much better and maybe we were worth of our win althought we needed bags of luck to get it. Anyway apart some of his miss passes JB was imminemt today. Talking about work rate........
