I disagree you,except for the forwards we have a very strong squad

 

I DID put money on us beating Birmingham .

 

We played Birmingham off the park and lost because of a catastrophic mistake

 

Hmm I think that's a bit generous, from memory we created very little until the end of the game

That Birmingham team was awful

 

I'm talking about the squad depth needed to remain competitive with Chelsea and City, not the first 11.

The only place we have really good depth is the attacking midfielder position. We would need a center forward, 2 wingers (really discarding Podolski as anything but a 70minute sub), a defensive midfielder, a right back and central defender (if Verm/Sagna leave), to be even remotely comparable to Chelsea and City on squad size/quality.

 

Well that was ****. That's really all that can be said.

 

I still believe our issues lie in the fact we don't carry any threat up front. Our midfield can match anyone's (despite how we played today)

Also I dont agree on the depth issue.

Were all missing today and are all arguably starters in our best 11.

Giroud is toothless as they come. In two years he has never scored against United, Chelsea or City. The guy is completely invisible in the games that matter.

 

I'm talking about the squad now and not about next season if players leave.Go through our current squad of all our players are fit.I think it's a very strong squad
