Where I have a shred of sympathy for Boyd [and I don't have much], is that he doesn't make any attempt to spit. It is just saliva leaving his mouth. I don't think he intended anything other than to dive over Hart's outstretched leg, in that anticipating contact style rubbish that we are supposed to swallow. Hart went well overboard with his reaction. I'm slightly surprised he wasn't cautioned by the FA in any way.

Chelsea 3-0 Arsenal Hazard (pen) 16:35. Bizarre stuff, Oxlade-Chamberlain hand balls to save a goal, but Gibbs gets sent off instead! Andre Marriner excels himself.

How can Alex see his team-mate sent off and not own up? Interesting half time get together!

He did own up. They just showed Alex telling Marriner it was him who hand balled.

He did own up, but it was too late to save Gibbs. The card had been shown.

The inflexibility of refs in this situation boggles the mind.

NOPE DECISION MADE NOTHING I CAN DO NOW.

    Well ****ing why not?

To be fair to Marriner, I can understand why you don't really take much notice of a player trying to change who you are sending off.

But yeah, it is a farce.

I like that everyone's calling him racist as if this has never happened with two white players.

The interesting thing is, if Kieron Gibbs has his red card overturned, will Oxo get a retrospective ban instead?

And it was going wide so should have been a yellow anyway. This would be an enormous injustice if Arsenal hadn't already been doomed anyway.

Earlier this season, Joe Garner punched someone and Neil Kilkenny was mistakenly sent off for it - Kilkenny's suspension was overturned and Garner was given one instead, I'd assume the same thing would happen in the PL.

Surely if it's deliberate handball in the area, it's a straight red regardless of whether the ball's going in or not?

Isn't it denying a goal/goal scoring oppurtunity with a deliberate handball?
