The one thing nobody can deny in this episode is the complete hypocrisy of team America world police and other nations when they cry outrage about Russia not complying with international law, the same hypocrite nations that stand by and back illegal Israeli settlements. International law is only relevant when it suits people.

Think this might be fair though:-

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...ace-sanctions-says-Vladimir-Putin-critic.html

:emoticon-0105-wink:

Funny, they've just been talking about this on the Daily Politics with the Polish ambassador. All agreed that 'we' should be become less dependent on Russian oil and gas ...... and build pipelines directly to the Ukraine so they can export their asstes to the EU instead. And oh how Wall St and the City of London rejoiced.

I see the Ukrainian gold, 33 tons of it have been shipped to the US. Add that to the Iraqi gold Libyan gold and even the German gold the US sold to China and actually can't give back to Germany.

I line in Finland, no friends of Russia here trust me.

But I have to say, the cognitive dissonance over this is par for the course, people have had a view on Russia since being kids, the big bad bear. People rather than digest how the world has changed drastically since then just stick to what they have believed all of their lives and are ready to absorb propaganda as it is exactly in line with their core beliefs lad.

it's not about who is good or bad, they are both ****ing ****s, I am just <yikes> at the complete ignorance of actual history and how things have changed since the soviet union.

In Finland the media have put out there "is Putin a new Stalin or Hitler" I mean c'mon, talk about propaganda! People have to be ****ing stupid to even mention Putin alongside those names.<laugh>

Gotta say this image supports the logical assumption that Russia would have a right to feel like they are facing aggression, from a strategic viewpoint, only a fool would not feel like they are being surrounded.

A case can be made from this image, along with millions of facts, that there is a future conquest of Russian planned but first China must be removed from the equation. I play a lot of strategy games and that's how I'd play out this map.

it be comes painfully clear on this map why Syria and Iran are important

Putin is a dictator with facist views, who runs a totally corrupt country. It's hardly difficult to see why people don't like Russia. It's not some magical propaganda machine, Russia are ****s.

I'm not defending actions of other countries. But your posts make you sound very pro Russia.

That's not correct, Putin is part of a "government" that is really a gang of cronies, presidents may change but the underlying control never changes hands except when maybe another faction becomes as or more powerful, see Stalin and\or Khrushchev. When they lost power and backing they were screwed.

You tell me how that is different from corporate lobbyists controlling government policy, corporate execs moving from Corporate to government, changing laws and going back to being corporate execs.

I know, hard decision, gangster or corporation, who do you want to rule you?

I do know that corporate ruled US has invaded many countries in recent times and caused millions of deaths globally with it's proxy wars, I know that recently Russia prevented war in Syria, well prevented more war while the US and Uk have made sure that civil war rages on and on by supplying the rebels with money and weapons, and support terrorists they profess to be against.

We know what Putin is, for sure, well I do, you seems to have some issues with facts. We know he's ruthless we know he's a gangster.
Do we know what cameron is? He is up in arms over Crimea but he was just in Israel licking their balls and ignoring a 47 year brutal occupation. Obama also backs this 47 year brutal occupation where children have been intentionally targeted and murdered because they wore a backpack as they do when going to and from school. So, tell me how Cameron who also licks Chinese ball even though they have shocking human rights issues, like harvesting organs from prisoners, what does it say about Cameron to back all of that and get his knickers in a twist over Ukraine.

As far as I know Putin has not backed murder and pillage and human rights violations, prevented the US killing even more people in Syria and unlike the US and UK managed to get Crimea back into Russian federation without firing a shot while people are still having their heads chopped off by US and UK backed rebels in Syria.

So again I ask, what is Cameron and Obama if Putin is a fascist? US UK spying on everything, supporting terrorist for decades, illegal invasions, assassinations you name it they've done it including the murder of the Polish president during WWII because he was going to make an issue of Russian butchery by Russia of Polish in Katyn forest.

yeah Russia bad, UK US good? that's what you've all been brainwashed to believe for 70 years so it is no surprise you only see one evil in this whole mess

Hard decision? Between corporations or gangsters? Not a difficult one for me lol. I'm not part of this new anti capitalism nonsense that seems to be going around. I'd take corporations over gangsters all day long.

P.s. Haven't Russia been accused of there own human rights violations? They don't need to support anyone else who does it, they do it themselves lol.

Also for all purposes he is a dictator. Whether he has a phoney government around him or not.

“We’ve invested over 5 billion dollars to assist Ukraine in these and other goals that will ensure a secure, prosperous, and democratic Ukraine,” Victoria Nuland, Assistant US Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia said in December, 2013.

This is the woman on the leaked call saying "**** the EU"

So the US put 5 billion into the regime change in Ukraine.

Sisu, does it really matter? Western Europe and the USA have been searching for a way to re-invigorate their economies and Putin has just given them a reason on a plate.

The Russian response to their situation is to fall back upon late 19th/early 20th century strategies to attempt to ensure their security. The end game is to re-establish the old borders of the USSR whilst being seen to bully a weak Western Europe. The thinking is in itself very limited. Part of the problem for Russia is that the 'West' (in particular USA, UK and France) are already aware of the fragility of the Russian economy and in particular the supply chain. Perhaps even more importantly Germany now has the strategic reason to drastically reduce its reliance upon Russian gas.

So whilst the 'West' may appear to be rather wishy-washy in its response, it has managed to clearly demonstrate to Moscow that it does have the power to pull the plug on then very quickly. Hence the 20th century strategy is undermined by a 21st century response.

"Time to grab guns and kill damn Russians – Tymoshenko in leaked tape"
Here's some Nationalist talk, not what you would expect from government, but it does show what a piece of **** Tymoshenko really is. Portrayed as an angel by western media here's she's talking about shooting people in the had with a machine gun, yep, that's how angels talk. <doh>

This is the kind of rule the Crimea could expect from Kiev. Total vindication of Crimean people asking for help from Russia before Crimea was brutally occupied by nationalist forces and most likely Russia prevented Crimean folk facing terrorism and conflict as the nationalists tried to force out Russian troops from Ukraine.

The hypocrisy of this **** Tymoshenko, she ripped off Ukraine to the tune of a 100 billion in her shady deals with Russia and now she's all "Kill Russians" <doh>
