442, Quinn left mid. Aluko on the bench as a second half sub with his pace.

    Simples.

Meyler or Livermore in CMF alongside Hudd? Or Meyler out wide on LW? Don't think SB will start Quinn on LW as he seems reluctant to give him playing time except alongside Brady when he was fit. Agree this is a game we have to win to get us to 33 points and clear of the relegation pack. A loss would make the next 8 games a very nervous time. However West Brom are missing two key players in Olsson and Brunt so that should help.

Hope Bruce gets his tactics right for this one... its going to be very nervy as they arnt many "winnable" games left. Also west brom know a win for them and they'll leap frog us...

From previous experience we dont seem to do well in these kind of games, its not exactly a must win but its certainly a must not lose.

Going for a very nervy 2-2..

    Davies & Long to score.

I reckon we'll play 3 at the back for this one, probably with Figueroa on the left of the 3 with Chester and Davies, and the rest of the team almost picks itself now.

I'd play 442 and give Livermore another week off, he's clearly struggling with something, so save him so he's fully fit for the run in.

This is going to be no easy game. West Brom will have a good crowd behind them, they are fighting for survival and hungry for points and they're no mugs.

We need to be focused and at them from whistle to whistle.

If Aluko is in the first team I'll buy you a pint.

    Is Rosy injured?

    You'd drop Jelavic?

    Why?

He had enough opportunities last week to create or score to make it a cricket score in our FA our, and he scuffed every single one. Not to mention being permanently offside.

Don't think he's good enough, Fryatt is better.

Tough one for Brucie to work on tactics - West Brom reverted to a 3-5-2 against Swansea and got their first win under Pepe Mel. But they only have 3 fit centre-backs, and one is a youngster.

Do they go back to 4-4-2, or move Ridgewell into the back 3 and convert someone else into a makeshift left-wing-back?

Bruce will have to make us easily adaptable from kick-off.

If Aluko is in the starting 11 I'm going to throw a chicken balti pie in Bruce's fizzog with Steve Backley type force and precision.

He's been utter, utter w**k since he came back.

We'd be better off playing with ten men.

Their charging £30 for this game which is far too much, most other games against similar teams have been £22 this season. The game at the Hawthorns was only £15.

With people preparing to pay for a trip to Wembley I can see why this hasn't sold out.

Rubbish. They were only half chances because Jelavic's pace and anticipation made them so. Fryatt wouldn't have even got in the vicinity of most of them.

Also Jelavic (and all our other forwards) were repeatedly caught offside against Man City because they played the tactic perfectly.

If Jelavic hadn't been offside it would only have shown he wasn't on the shoulder of the last defender where he was supposed to be.

Dont rate Ridgewell at all. Was he playing wing back? Elmo will tear him a new one if he does. If he plays CB Long will play on him and get at him.

Sorry, you lost it there. I think Steve McQueen could tunnel from one side of the pitch to the other with a shovel faster than Jelavic could run it.

Jelavic shows enough pace to get on the end of chances in the six yard box when Fryatt is gradually approaching the penalty area. So if Jelly's slow I dread to think what the rest of our forwards are.

Absolutely! I sit up in the West Stand predominantly because I like to be able to watch the whole game with a similar viewpoint. I've been going for nearly 45 years and up there I'm surrounded by people, many of whom are a good bit older than me, who take their flasks and other paraphernalia but they're there every week come rain or shine (or Chiropodists visits). They may not go to many, if any, away games and they may not sing that much at home but they've been going for years and are not just there for the Prem.
