Not a surprise at all.. but thought I'd share...

It looks French striker Loic Remy is very likely to join Arsenal this summer, when his one year loan deal at Newcastle runs out, and the player has been seen in London this week meeting with Arsenal officials.

Loic Remy has met with Arsenal officials

Remy has scored 13 goals in just 24 appearances on Tyneside, and he has been outstanding for the Magpies this season, and the QPR striker is expected to join a bigger club in the summer.

The news is being reported in Football Direct News, which is owned by Mike Ashley, so maybe this is some inside information leaking out.

Remy has apparently been spotted in a London hotel with Arsenal officials, so it looks like the London club have stolen a march on some other big clubs – like Chelsea – who are also interested in signing the 27 year-old striker – who could be available for just £8M.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been interested in Remy, but Tottenham will not be able to offer the former Marseilles striker Champions League football, and it seems he will be an Arsenal player next season.

Once Newcastle sold Yohan Cabaye in January and failed to replace him, that was a big message to Loic and the rest of the Newcastle players that the club did not have enough ambition to become a big club again in England, and it was almost certain Remy would not sign for Newcastle.

That’s turning out to be true – sad but true.

Normally I'd laugh it off because the NUFC blog is nothing but speculative hot air. However I fully expect Remy to be in an Arsenal shirt. I still think Debuchy might join him if Sagna departs

How can you say that when you know they have daily meetings with Pards and Carver and know everything that's going on at the club.

I could see Mourinho jumping in and hijacking any move, he needs a striker at Chelsea and Remy would fit the bill for them, wouldn't surprise me.

Remy isn't irreplaceable. I'm sure Carr has a gem up his sleeve.

It's been rumoured that Torres is heading back to Atletico Madrid with one of their current strikers going to Chelsea (can't recall his name off hand)

Arsenal would suit Remy very well i'm sure as he probably has property in London anyway (QPR)

If this true, Remy can go and f#ck himself. He should show a bit of loyalty to the only team who gave him a chance when that rape charge was hanging over his head.

Nothing but rumours at the moment, we'll have to wait and see.

I think a few would feel like this. To be honest I can see that angle but at his age you need to take your chances to play at a high as level as possible. If we showed a little more ambition or were moving forward at a pace, you have a better chance, but as it stands players are going to see us as merely a stepping stone.

To start with he's a QPR player out on loan so if any loyalty came into it, it would be for them, you have to accept that in the game now at PL level there is little if any loyalty to a club these days, players will look for the best return financially and the biggest stage to play on to achieve that. Added to this is that clubs are more than willing to cash in on their top assets when the money is high enough, it's not just us, Spurs if they kept Bale would probably be in the top 4 because he can make that difference, £83 million and bags of players in hasn't replaced that one wonder player.

I fully expect Debuchy to go to Arsenal too.
Their desperation to deliver next season will play firmly into tubbys hands.

This! It's worked well for both parties this season, but it was only ever a going to be a short term fix for all involved.

Wenger may not be at Arsenal next season due to the number of times he's been humiliated this season. One season too many?
Who knows what a new manager might think.

I think Arsene will get one more season. I think they will expect him to spend big this summer, cure their attack problems (way too light) and challenge for the league properly. They could have been well clear if they'd had the right options in the squad. It took Citeh and Chelsea a while to get going full tick and they still throw in the odd poor result. Arsenal have been in bottom half form though. Undoubtedly Ramsey's injury hurt them but at their level you should have more options. Its not like us where money is tight so when you lose Cabaye you don't have the squad options. I think he has to sort it out next year as the stadium excuse is gone now (valid as it was).

He's been good for them but maybe he's had his day. Still wouldn't say no to him coming here though.

Oh aye he could still go somewhere else and be great for them. His all round knowledge is fantastic.

Has he gone stale or maybe just got stuck in his ways a little there? I think this summer will tell us. They have to spend big to compete. Ozil was a great start.
