David Salas was asked about his moonlighting at West Brom in the prematch conference. Mauricio said he's finished and needs to look for more work....I think their sni ggering suggested he was joking.
From the Guardian today: ''This match may be portrayed as a sort of audition for Pochettino. Except that billing would suggest that managing Spurs is more desirable than managing Southampton. A good manager could achieve more there in the long term than at Spurs with their-make-it-up-as-they-go-along approach.'' Like it!
I shall have a look in on that with their listen again facility. I presume this was not Hawkesby & Jacobs, but Durham and Gough. EDIT: Ah, it was Jacobs & Danny Kelly, no less. Around about 20 minutes in during this segment: http://talksport.com/radio/listen-again/1395406800#
With the defensive heart of our midfield now on the treatment table, I am seriously concerned that this game could be a disaster.. Who is going to play deep?
I hear that Harrison Reed may play a big part this Sunday. I have zero qualms there. Been waiting for him to properly get onto the scene.
Davis and JWP are not defensive midfielders and are fairly light weight. I too am looking forward to Reed being given a chance but again I don't think he is overly defensive Will MP play a slightly different style as we haven't got any proper DMs? Probably not
Lovren is a doubt and Chambers was played at CB in a U21 match...wonder if that is being considered. Let's hope Lovren is OK though.
Just noticed in one match review that we have done more long balls than any other PL club...my guess is they mean our long distance strategic passing because we don't do long balls
Unfortunately our fans get panicky when we start to pass it at the back and just scream for it to be booted down the middle quite often. I was cheering Artur against Norwich while everyone around me screamed. Each time he lumped it we have the ball away. Twice we nearly got caught out, but didn't. I don't include the two goals as they weren't about keeping it at the back, they were about poor selections from the players. If the fans didn't screech, the players might not panic.

He's right about the fans not always liking it. The players do seem to have faith in Mauricio (but whisper it quietly....sometimes just clear it, Artur).
