From Jose's first spell at Chelsea it stems from then I think

    Cant remember why though

I thought Jose's comments on Wenger were extremely disrespectful recently

    For what?

I dont respect Harold Wilkinson and he won something a very very long time ago.

Not saying I dont respect Wenger, hes done alright for a Frencher but I base my respect on nothing more than the fact hes somehow still got a job.

I think it was actually an insult to Wenger that Fergie spoke so highly of him towards the end of his spell with us. It was basically Feegies way of saying you are no threat anymore. There is no way Fergie would have shown him the same level of respect had he actually been a realistic threat for silverware, like he was back in the late 90s early 00s.

As of 2004 onwards Wenger and Arsenal have been also rans, so Fergies rivalry with Wenger mellowed

    For what?

His teams always play good football, the way he changed the game when he came, the way he helps other managers

And the fact he seems like a nice grandad

I just respect what he's done in the game but he can be a cry baby definitely

    Good football?

I call it ineffective football. Most of his success came when Arsenal were still thugs.

Wenger rubbed Jose up the wrong way because he couldnt stop talking about us....in both Jose's spells at Chelsea.
This is why Jose called him a voyeur. He just wouldnt shut up.
Jose's comments this time around were pretty harsh, but everyone knows Jose lives with his foot in his mouth.
Joses comments were in response to Wenger saying that Mourinho was playing down our title hopes because of his fear of failure.
There was no need to Arsene to say that, or talk about Jose at all.

In both cases though, you know damn well they were probably asked to comment on each other by Hack journalists, salivating over getting an awesome quote and starting a "beef" (as they call it in the Hip-Hop world).

I actually respect Webger too, I think he's done really well with Arsenal, to keep them competitive for so many years with sides who have been buying there way to the top. Any lesser manager would have fallen out of the top 4, given similar circumstances.

He is a top top manager, his only downfall is how tactically stubborn he is, he refuses to ever set up to counter act the opposition, something you have to do if you want to conquer Europe

Wenger didn't mention any names, in regards to the fear of failure thing. He was just asked why some managers where playing down there chances. Brendan Rodgers had too been playing down his sides chances, and Rodgers never decided to attack Wenger personally.

Though I do agree that a lot of these comments are stirred up by the media, by slightly mis quoting what the other managers have said, to create more animosity between them

You see the thing that irks me about Arsenal is that since the invincibles season in 04, they have been content to just plod along and win a CL spot every year.
Wenger really pissed me off with his comment about how the FA cup is worthless and all that matters is 4th spot, because of the Champions League.
Now granted, he has done an excellent job of keeping Arsenal at the head table (ie the CL) on a budget alot smaller than City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs have spent, but seriously, What is the f**king point of getting into the CL every year, if you are not going to try push your team to that next step and compete to win the f**king thing?
Its great for the account books to have them in it every year, but what about trying to give the fans a return on all the cash they have spent in the last decade supporting Arsenal?
Do you think the fans are content with getting 4th place every year so they can get into the Champions League, just so they can get eliminated at the Group Stage or knocked out in the last 16 year after year. Its not fair on their supporters.
Fans want to see their club win trophies. And the way Wenger talks about the importance of the Champions League, even though its been years since they had a decent try at winning the competition, just confuses me.

    same.
He is a decent coach, and has an eye for nurturing young players (no jokes please), but tactically the guy is as much use as a chocolate tea pot.
He has one style of play which he will not deviate from, regardless of what team they are playing.
Its this naive approach to games that have meant they have been perennial failures in the Champions League (with the exception of that one year where they got to the final and lost).

He's obviously not won anything for a while and when he's lost certain players he's struggled replacing them. I think this season he doesnt stick to just one style, like the win at Spurs for example

Mind you poor finishing from Spurs saved them there

I get what you're saying but me personally have never minded him to much and I do have respect for what he's done in the game

    I think its because he's old! <laugh>
