I do t think unite will get beaten as badly as most think. The players still have pride and last time I checked I meet wanted to get hammered whilst playing, even if it was likely we'd lose. They will still show for the occasion.

Those stats don't actually prove a lot, as in the last 16, the group winners play the 2nd leg at home. So the superior side more often than not plays the 2nd leg at home. It is probably a slight advantage, but not as high as 65%. I bet the % is a lot lower in the QF and SF

But all 8 Quarter finalists were group winners this year, so how did they decide who went first at home etc this year?
    Random?

He means in the previous round, can't happen in the qtr finals. Are you being pedantic about an unnecessary comma? <whistle>

Didn't want PSG to be honest, they're the kind of team we'll either not know what to expect or underestimate. Still, rather them than Bayern or Madrid for now <ok>

Don't think we'll under estimate them but we certainly won't fear them and there would be more danger of that with a Bayern or Real.

It's a 50/50 tie for me. Our defence if better, their attack is better. Don't by too much into where the 2nd leg is played but we certainly have the better manager and more experience at this level.

I thought the semis got drawn at the same time but haven't heard anything on that.

Cavani is the problem, remember him causing us an absolute nightmare when we played Napoli. But I'd rather face Ibrahimovic/Cavani than Ronaldo/Bale or Robben/Ribery

I agree, 50/50. Hopefully our experience sees us through this aswell as our quality.

Not just him mate, they have Thiago Silva, Veratti, Lavezzi, Moura and not to mention Ibrahimovic! Agree with the latter, the main two sides to avoid right now are Real and Bayern.

? nah is a serious question.

In the last 16 the group winners are at home 2nd, but in the QF how do they decide who is at home first and away second, especially since all the QFinalists were group winners this year? Is it random.

When they are drawn, whoever comes out first gets the home advantage in the first leg, I think.

Not a bad draw for Chelsea. Deserve to have the 2nd leg at home of course because of past record in the competition. I havent watched that much of PSG so it will be a good chance to watch them

I think on paper PSG are the stronger team, they have far better individuals. Chelsea only really have 1 stand out game changer, and that's Hazard. Even though Laurent Blanc is a good young manager, Mourinho is a real master of the 2 legged knockout affair, so you would have to give it to Chelsea on that front. Chelsea also have great resilliance and can grind out results in big games, they are very tough to beat hence why there unbeaten against the top sides in the PL this season.

This is a very close game to call, maybe it's a 50/50 with the bookies, but I just feel PSG might just have to much for Chelsea, it's gonna be incredibly tricky to keep the likes of Ibra, Cavani and Lavezzi quiet for 180 minutes, and Chelsea's achillies heel does look to be a lack of goals in the team, so I struggle to see how they're going to match PSG punch for punch

Chelsea has the better defence + goalkeeper. Only thiago silva is better then our central defence, we have the better fullbacks.

The same cavani who plays out wide? The same lavezzi who's been some what a flop for psg?

It's very easy to get excited about attacking players and underestimate the impact of tactics and a solid back line. This will be a fine tie but we've nothing to fear baring Ibra having one of those games when he's unplayable.

Yes but you are biased. Thiago Silva and Alex are a better pairing than Terry and Cahill. Thiago Silva is the best centre half in the world, whilst as you guys know Alex is a very good player too. Maxwell is a quality left back, who has played and won CL finals in the past, and is a better option than Azpilicueta who is a right back playing on the left, because Cole is finished. Ivanovich is a centre half playing on the right, and isn't as good a right back as Van Der Wiel.

Cech might be a slightly better keeper, though that is no full gone conclusion, as Sirigu is a very good keeper, and I doubt if having a slightly better keeper is really gonna make that much difference. They are both very good stoppers in truth.

So because Cavani plays out wide, he is a poor player? He has still scored 21 goals this season already playing from the right, so I really don't understand your reasoning there. I'd hardly say Lavezzi has been a failure, he may not have set the world alight, but he's still done reasonably well, he's got 8 goals this season which isn't to bad for a winger, particularly when he has to play 2nd fiddle to Ibra and Cavani

Ivanovic and Azpillicueta are far better than Van Der Wiel and Maxwell <doh>

Cech slightly better? He's out of his league.

The main thing we have over PSG is experience in abundance and Jose Mourinho to use it.

Now go back to comparing Oscar to Peter Crouch.

How are thiago silva and alex better then terry and cahill? Think you're the one being biased.

Have you even watched azpi? He's probably been the best left back in the league and he's playing out of position, I've never seen him get beat 1 on 1. He may not be the most attacking fullback, but he's probably the best defensive one. Van der weil is rubbish. You just have to read some of the psg forums who don't even rate him.

Collectively, chelsea is far more defensively sound.

Regarding cavani, i never said he's a poor player, but if you honestly think he'll be the same player out wide then in the center, then your deluded.
