Morning Everyone, Its a bright and Sunny Day in Southampton. How are we. The big group that are meeting up, don't forget to take lots of pictures, that we can use for caption competitions for years to come. Back to footballing matters, GFH worked long into the night with their team of lawyers on Wednesday and came up with ........... a letter This letter demanded answers regarding the takeover. please log in to view this image It was pretty cutting, but it was blunt, and to the point. Unfortunately, the FA have ignored it Who would have thought it? Just when you thought GFH could not make themselves more stupid, they did! I wonder if they remembered to put a stamp on the letter? Maybe they sent it second class? Perhaps they forgot to send the letter?
Mornin Elland. Letter looks great. Down the pan after next week. What the hell, at least something to talk about while we continue our tradition of recent years of buying rubbish and trying to get excited about it. Best of luck to all the lads at the meet up. Sounds like a good weekend ahead. Pity bout the football that will likely spoil it
Morning all. On the GFH letter, the words and acronymn DILIGAF spring to mind. Getting seriously bored with this now. Irritated that I'm not coming up for the soiree with the gentlemen from South Claaarm (Deptford to you & me!!!). Hope all goes well & the only kick off involves teams on the pitch at the start of the game and at the beginning of the 2nd half. I think we will do this one and in the end I think we'll get home 3-1.
Morning all. Totally agree with GFH demanding a decision Totally understand the FA sticking two fingers up to GFH and ignoring them
Morning. Letter was a bunch of fluff preceding the find paragraph which basically says we're going down the pan without the approval and lays the groundwork for suing them for loss to their investment. Thinly veiled threat. Seems pretty clear now, if it wasn't already, that this hinges on: - football league's lawyer's interpretation of what constitutes a conviction under Italian law. - whether the mitigating circumstances suggested no actual 'dishonesty' - depending on their conclusions above, whether they feel they are open to an action from gfh or cellino. Despite the paranoia we get about hatred of leeds, my feeling is if they think they have enough of an excuse to pass him they will. It's potentially far less complicated for them to say yes and defend a bit of a pr backlash than say no and deal with the possible consequences. Though I guess the counter to that is each time they let someone not fit and proper pass their fit and proper test... It makes it harder to turn down the next chancer. I actually have a bit of sympathy for the league. None of their clubs make money, they want them to exist, but only idiots and crooks want to own them.
+1 I know we need Cellino, I want him in as I see no alternative but you have to agree, if he passes the test you have to wonder why have the test in the first place.
Good morning to all from a very sunny BARDSEY Why oh why Did they send that letter it smells of despiration to me My tale as an old man who has been round the block they cannot refuse him as the old charges are time spent and the latest one is still at the appeal stages and likely to run for 2 years or more so until a decision is reached hes NOT GUILTY I would have loved to meet you all as I feel I have got to know some of you over the nlast 12 months or so and you have been everv supportive to me .However until im feeling fit I will have to decline perhaps later in the season .Maureen has broken her wrist I got a solicitor but they want all costs plus 25% of what shes awarded I told them where to go so Im looking for someone who is not so greedy! If we don't beat Millwall then we are in serious trouble
Morning all I'm not at all surprised that the league ignored the letter, whatever the motive was on GFH's part. The ball is firmly with the FL, and if they want to take longer to make their decision they will do, regardless of whether GFH say "but no one else want's to buy the club!". Hope you manage to find one that isn't quite so money grabbing, an unfortunate trait in many solicitors 60.
Despite what was reported the letter didn't demand an answer yesterday. It has two purposes I can see. 1. Apply some pressure to the decision process. 2. Get the implications of what will happen if cellino is turned down, in writing ahead of a decision. Point 1 has two purposes I can see: to put pressure on a 'yes' to cellino, and to make it clear that not making a decision (ie waiting for the Italian legal proceedings to take their full course) is not an option. Point 2 also has two possible purposes, it deflects blame for admin onto FL for their floundering. It gets a piece of paperwork in the file about losses gfh will incur because of the decision process... If required for any future legal action
Lots of people over look that they are actually covered on their home insurance policy under Legal Protection might be worth having a look through your policy.
