For me it wold have to be: Kenny Peltier Pearce Warnock Wootton Byram Austin Murphy Dawson Mowatt McCormack Smith Obviously also keep the youngsters on who haven't even had a chance yet......
Last season we finished mid table, this season we are 15th - Between these players they have proved that together they are just an average bunch, not one of them is good enough for the Premier League, as long as we could get decent cash for Byram and Ross I wouldn't care if we got rid of every single one of them. I can't help but feel Ross is a bit of a disruption in the dressing room, I might be a million miles away with that one but it is something I have wondered for a while.
EH, that is vertually our team at the moment, and look how poor they are? Lets make it interesting. If you had to lose 5 (first team) names from your list, who would they be?
Personally if I had to build a team around that list (which hasn't enough kept midfielders and rightfully so as they are all awful) losing 5 and being assured of 5 replacements mine would be Kenny, Peltier, Austin, Warnock and Dawson.
I know it'd be quite easy to have the opinion that we should bin the lot of em and start over but I don't think thats the case. Think this team will be 10 times better next year (provided we keep McD) purely because of stability (thats the key word here). Look at Leicester, they were in and around the play-offs and they signed absolutely no one in the summer to add to their first team and they've gone and practically won the league already. They were a better side than what we have now so we definitely need to sign players to add to this squad but I think we'll be a lot better if we actually show some faith in some of the players that have shown signs but perhaps not the consistency thats needed. But for the sake of it, I'll play the game (and not including players that won't be here next season ie. loanees): Lees, Pearce, Warnock, Wootton, Zaliukas, Byram, Murphy, Dawson, Mowatt, Stewart, Smith, McCormack Not saying all these should be making the first team by the way and also not saying I wouldn't prefer to keep more players than that.
Couldn't bring myself to do this, too depressing But I notice everyone has forgotten Kebe. I know the deal was he'd not stay if we weren't promoted, but surely there'd be a chance if we threw money at him Yup I'm in one of those moods again, it's only the thought of despatching Millwall to an even lowlier place in the league that is keeping a spring in my step
Personally I don't think that is a fair comparison, they were playing nowhere near as poor as we are, they had quality through the team for all to see, they probably never had a first team 11 player who would not have walked into our squad (apart from Kasper). I don't think we should bin every player and start again, what I am saying is that NONE of them are irreplaceable. If we sold or released any player tomorrow I would not be disappointed unless it was a sale to clear the mounting debts and no equal player was to replace them. Saying that we have a pretty worthless squad apart from maybe 3-4 of them.
I would, based on the fact that that is a huge sum of money for us, and we've spent it on a guy who we have barely seen. I fully support looking to the future with signings, but that kind of cash needs to be spent on improving our starting XI
Nothing is wrong, he is an average player who will turn 33 this year, but going by the scenario of which 5 must go from the list
