..... followed by a deep solemn man's voice saying, "Almina is 8 years old and about to be married ... " after which they ask you to send money.

Are we entitled to interfere in the culture of another country?

Tough one mate, but it makes me puke to think that there are societies in this world of ours that think it is OK to have sex with kids..If we can help these kids in any way then I think we should..

Desensitizing people is only going to lead to less charitable donations in the long term. Ultimately, their forward attitude will be their undoing and the people they profess to want to help will suffer further.

I'm talking all tv charity ads here (poverty, donkeys, ect)

It's a minefield isn't it ........ also a bit hypocritical when English blokes go to visit or live in places like Thailand because they can have sex with children.

We don't expect African countries to send money because a generation of UK kids have access to drugs, eat themselves obese and don't exercise.

With the Africa appeals etc you have to wonder where all the money really goes because it sure as he'll doesn't look like its going where we're meant to believe it is

Like they really expect us to beat world hunger? We're not ****ing american beauty queens ffs. I put my spare money in the charity box for little 'Timmy' and 'Emma' from aycliffe or bishop auckland who need a new wheelchair, life saving drugs or an operation because the little Hitler's in Westminster has deemed their health and well being too expensive to fund after their horrific cuts. That's charity! All this **** abroad won't change until their own governments take action.

Charity starts at home, the Salvation Army will be looking for a few pennies

Thing that I find offensive is that Paul O'Grady is also in an advert, for children in our country living in poverty, that's the disgusting thing, we send millions abroad to help other countries, yet our children are living in poverty!

That's where most of my charity money goes .. I had a few aunties in the 'Army' and they did a great job.

While I'm on about condescending ****e, what about this 'teach a man to fish' bollocks?
If you need to teach hungry people, who've lived by a lake for generations, how to fish then they're beyond hope aren't they?

More than that mate, they escape from a **** hole and want to change our culture to the **** hole they`ve run away from.

ref - burqas, islam4uk, sharia, grooming gangs etc.
islam is not the religion of peace, it is not a religion at all, it is a Satanic cult.
    Said my piece.

I donate money when my friends do charitable things out of social politeness and duty, but, in all honesty, I'm dead against Western charity. Why? Because not all the money goes where it should. If a Charity boss earns £250,000, how much of my £10 donation is going to training a f***ing guide dog? I am thoroughly willing to give to charities whose members work purely on a voluntary basis, but the Big charities are just businesses in disguise, which rip people off with the idea of "good will". My grandad, a WW2 vet, volunteered to collect for one of the first poppy appeals. At the end of the day, his supervisor dashed open a tin and started scooping the coins into his bag, tossing a tin to my grandad and saying "here's your share"... Glad to say my grandad gave him a hiding <ok>

I have to say, I also thoroughly deplore the idea of people doing something they want to do, like climb a mountain or run a marathon, and claim they're doing it to raise money for charity. That's a piss take in my opinion. I realise that's contentious, and that some of you will have done that very thing, or know others who have done it, but it's bullshit. I'm sorry, what has running 25 miles got to do with giving money in a charitable fashion?! If my friends came up to me and said, "donate to such and such because I think it's a good charity", I would do it with less grudging than when they go through the pretense of pretending their participation in a sporting event counts as charitable in anyway. Seriously, who's going to turn around to someone they know and go "no, I won't donate to that charity unless you jog a bit in a banana costume"????

A guy I know climbed Kilamajaro "for charity". He spent £10,000 on doing it, and raised £2,000 for charity. Give your money to the f***ing charity and they'd be £8,000 better off to start with, ask others to help and you'd probs get the exact same amount of £2,000, and don't be a pretentious prick and pretend you wanting to climb a mountain is for anything other than selfish personal aspiration <ok>

He'll be getting paid to do it, thats the thing that boils my piss, these events (such as sport relief tommorrow) have become a platform to promote

I once (pissed up) rang and offered £1m (probably had a tenner at the time) if wogan would admit its just a showcase for already wealthy folk, went to speak to whoever, came back no he wont do it

Thats all these things are to me now

When live aid was on, i was nine and sat watching it with my gran, dad was out with the band and mam was working at the pub (gran lived with us)

I got 50p or a pound pocket money a week and i said to gran i would give my pocket money for 3 months, so she donated on my behalf and i never moaned once when i got **** all

It is possible to now seed the clouds

    Nowt more to add
