I think you will find that we scored more goals under Sousa than Redknapp. We definitely attacked more than we do now, but I will certainly agree it wasn't pretty!
Okay so the trail of thought at the moment from some people is, we will drop out of the play off places. As it stands we are ahead of Brighton and reading by 7 points. Brighton has one game in hand. so i gave it some thought and looked at the table and fixtures and came up with this. Now i know it is not perfect but here goes. I scored home games as if you play a team below you in the table you get three points and if the team is above you, you get one point. For away games if the team is above you, you do not get a point and if they are below you get 1. I think this is the fairest way of doing. Any way i did a table on a word document and after trying to copy and paste it, i failed to get it to work. so i will just tell you the results. We scored 19 points so did Brighton and reading only made 18. with are points in hand we should have enough points to stay up in conclusion we will make the play offs with ease
So are we saying that we will get a point or win off any team below us? Have you been watching the last 10 games..? Sorry if i understiood that wrong but try asking a Shef Wed or Charlton fan of thier opinions..? Major issue with your scoring system.... Have nother go with a bit of reality or history factored in... You're a student so you have plenty of free time on your hands Speak soon Brother. Live game Sat ?
There is a possibility for us to reach to the play offs. Its small but its there allright. Then again if (and this is a big fat if) we somehow manage to reach there what the hell we do there? If we are playing like we have played in recent weeks we are going to be the laughing stock of the football world. However the world of football is strange enough for few juicy suprises. If somehow a collossal suprise will come true and we we will reach to the wembley theres absolutely no chance for us to win such a match. Then again if a megalomanic suprise will come true and we get promoted to the premier league theres absolutely no chance for us to survive. We will be even worse than last time and with the players&managers like ours and we probably would get 12-16 pts in a season. Then again...... Seriously we are doomed for this season and few to come. Only possibility (for future seasons to come) is sack harry and his staff immediately and maybe change someone clever than beard to do the negotiations with the possible future signings.
No point sacking harry & TF won't yet, see out the season & see where we end up, hopefully promoted via play off's, team needs plenty of support right now & I know its hard & they don't deserve it at present, but they will get mine,
Odds on to reach the playoffs and then it's a lottery. Bookies have us going up, I suspect we will. What then happens in the Prem remains to be seen.
We will make the playoffs. We're genuinely one of the best teams in the league, not just on paper. That's why we're in our current position. Anyone who thinks we're in this current position purely on luck is being a bit silly, in my opinion. I know we're not the best team to watch but we've got the points to be where we are.
Charlie is due back soon(ish) and that will really lift the team. I think a lot of our players will return just at the right time. Will deal with how we will perform in the Premiership when it comes to it.
Take out the first ten games and we're nowhere near play-off standard. That's far more current form...
Thats our only hope, stumble into the playoffs and have everyone come back and somehow the team will overcome the horrendous management.
Just realised that I only have one pay day left before the end of the season!! Next Friday and then next one after that is the Monday after the Millwall game!! We haven’t really played well all season but noticing that has really made me realise that there isn’t long left at all. Can we start playing well between now and then??? Rational head on would struggle to pick us
I'm sorry, I can't see it. I fear we will slip out of contention slowly but inevitably. People pinning their hopes on Charlie Austin are misguided. It will take him a few weeks to get back to full match sharpness and I pray that Redknapp does not rush him back in because of his own desperation. If he does and Austin breaks down, I bet I know whose fault it won't be. After all what's he got to worry about? He's got Tony's full support and has already sold his excuses to him for flawed strategies in the transfer market and on the pitch. People pinning their hopes on others collapsing as the finish line approaches will be alarmed by the fact that only we and to a lesser extent, Forest, seem to be fitting that particular bill. Teams that get into the playoffs usually do so by upping their performance levels in the last few weeks - the complete opposite of the way we're heading
A rusty and unfit Austin is still miles better than doyle, Keane or Maiga. I'm holding onto that hope as its the only hope we have for saving the season. Palace stumbled into the playoffs and won last season.
If we somehow managed to get promotion then what would we do? With a managment like redknapp/jordan and the players like o'neill, SWP and onuoha.....give me a break. Ps. Sorry to be so cynical but after Sheff wednesday match its the only feeling.....
According to Wiki, the loser of the playoff final keeps all the gate receipt to soften the blow of losing. Is that true?
