I couldn't separate your centre back pairing and Szczesny. They've been superb for you this season (debacle against us aside, of course!). I'd also echo Gerrez that Flamini has been brilliant for you, too. TBF, if you're in the top four there shouldn't be too many poor performances from many players as the premiership is very unforgiving, especially this year. For example, Ozil has blown hot and cold for you this season but the vitriol from some commentators and fans (mostly rivals) is laughable. He's a quality player.
That's true, we don't have any bum players this season, otherwise it would have been highlighted in the Arsenal forum. Even players who have been criticised for playing poorly like Ramsey, have been a revelation.
I've wanted more from Cazorla, Giroud and AOC this season (though AOC did pick up that injury) but they've not been poor, just not up to the standard I'd want them to be at. I'd hoped for more of an impact from Ãzil too but what he's managed so far isn't to be sniffed at and I'm aware I'm expecting a lot from a new player.
Only one I would agree on is Cazorla, he is a class act and should have been better this season. As for AOC, the guy has been injured for most of the season and he's still close to his peak yet, so we can excuse him. As for Giroud, he's played as well as his talent will allow, he's been decent but he won't be a 20+ goal a season sort of striker. Good support striker though.
Sorry I was referring to the league, which is 12 goals. As I've said, he's done well with his limited skillset, so technically he hasn't had a bad season. But I stand by the fact that any half decent striker for us would score around the same amount of goals as Giroud when you have top quality midfielders supplying you, one of which is the best creative midfielder in the world.
Over the whole Season (so far) it's been BFG. But Ramsey's first half of the Season was phenomenal. If he can come back and regain that form we could win the league.
Agreed. I think he's had an average season, partly I think because his best position in central and Ozil has been playing there, but also he's lacked a bit of edge. Still a great player to have in the team but I'd like to see more from him hopefully in the run in now he's got a chance to play in his favoured position.
I actually think its not been about individuals but about the team and working together. Kos and Mert already been mentioned a lot, but also the right combination in midfield. Ramsey and Arteta were getting a lot of praise earlier in the season but when Ramsey got injured Arteta started getting some stick for a loss of for. Likewise Flamini was getting praise and was then partnered with Wilshere and later Ox and started getting more stick. Giroud for me has been our worst player, but he was better with Pod and Theo to feed him easy chances. I could go on but you get the point, its not about individuals which has probably come from getting rid of Judas.
Changing my pick to Ramsey, this past few months have shown how much we relied on him earlier this season.
