  1. I checked the Virgin on demand option last night and it was on there. Only problem was, they only had Series two episodes twelve and thirteen <doh>

I've set up a series link now so once I catch up I'll be able to watch them on the 42" TV rather than the 23" monitor I'm currently using <diva>

I'm planning to watch Breaking Bad after Arrow too.

    Plug PC into TV?

    #6025
  6. To refer to my previous comment, I can't be arsed <laugh>

My PC is in the cupboard thats above the stairs. I fitted shelving etc in there so the cables are fed through the back. Lots of messing about so its easier to stay there.

I thought that was the case, what about connecting the xbox to the PC wireless through media player?

    #6027
  8. Not got a wireless gadget for xbox and the media player stopped working. If the media player had been working then I'd have used that. Going to buy one of those mini-pc's I was on about.

  10. Depends which version of xbox you bought. I only got the basic arcade version but I've bought a HD since.

Oh right didn't know that, mine has a windows media player option that then finds my laptop and I can play anything that's in media player on the laptop, pretty good.

    Nice review, Luv. <ok>

I thought of Fassbender and Bardem as the main characters, with Diaz, like Pitt, a peripheral one, but clearly (as you said) the only one truly in control. It's almost like the more screen time a character gets the less they are aware of what is really going on.

Bardem is good as the supposed gangster who is completely 'out-ganstered' by Diaz's nutty 'moll'. Fassbender is basically caught up in something he doesn't understand and knows it, relying on Bardem and Pitt to explain it to him. Bardem is caught up in something he thinks he understands but doesn't. Pitt know's what he's caught up in, acknowledges his error (in staying in the game too long), flees but pretty much knows he's doomed. Diaz is the puppetmaster pulling the strings.

Diaz plays it well but I thought there was something missing from her performance. All in all, it's very well cast and acted but I'd probably would have cast someone else in the Diaz role, not sure who, though. Agree with you, luv, it's not a film you watch for effects or twists. Very well made, but not really my cup of tea. I might take your advice of reading the book and then re-watching it. You advice on movies you like is usually pretty good (despite your liking of O Brother!). <laugh>

As True Detective has finished and GOT is yet to start I've begun watching Black Sails and the Japanese manga anime Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin). FYI, both decent and worth a watch. <ok>

  15. I have the windows media player option too, I'm using it for the kids ATM via a usb connected HD, just not got wireless. You have to buy the xbox wireless accessory which is about £30, **** that.

The Walking Dead is pretty good. If Zombies are your bag.
The level of writing is not as good as some of the top, top :))) HBO shows like GoT, The Wire and The Sopranos but its pretty decent.

It's almost a film that you're not supposed to like, it's fimed in a dreamlike state with a focus on the isolated location and the dialogue beteween the characters Scott and McCarthy work perfectly here. Errors are made in the marketing, watch the trailer and you'd think your in for a roller coaster ride of a thriller, this couldn't be further from the truth.

It's a beautiful film and imo will gain a certain cult status not to the same degree but very much like Scotts Blade Runner did (slated by critics on release).

There seems to be a shift in film makers at the moment where they are looking at some great books and writers and finally having the balls to give them a go, trying to make a faithfull adaptation of the said books, just look at James Franco doing Child of God with his own money because nobody would touch a film about a serial necrophiliac (don't know why?).

Cheers for the recommendations, Bodanki. <cheers>

I've seen all The Sopranos, and have watched all the GOT and Walking Dead to date. I've never watched The Wire, and quite a few people on here rave about it, so it might perhaps be next on my list.

P.S. Luv: a book about a serial necrophiliac sounds like my cup of tea. I'm a sick puppy. <laugh>

If I was pushed I would probably say the Wire is, imo, the greatest TV show of all time.
GoT may surpass it, but I dont think its fair to make that judgment until GoT has finished. But right now The Wire is no. 1 for me, you should definitely watch it
