Caulker maybe but as much as Medel is good, not good enough imo.

Had a look at his stats there briefly, seems he's on par with Lucas defensively but has created much less in attack (three times less than Lucas with 3 chances).

From what I've seen he plays very deep and even plays centre back for Chilie.

She did the right thing then. <ok>

Seriously, they tried to improve the town, and built the fancy bridge connecting it to the port and everything, but it didn't lure anybody in. People passing through don't really hang about because they just want to get on with their journey.
Add the out of town supermarkets to that and the centre is dead.
At least, that's what I'm told, because funnily enough I don't go there.

One saving grace is that five minutes out you're in some beautiful countryside.

You're spot on the place is dead and rough as ****. Like you say though travel out a bit and the country and beaches are nice except for the constant bloody wind, I'll stay down south.

One extreme to the other. :)

I'm never confident about the clean sheet because we play an attacking game. That will always leave you a bit vulnerable at the back unless you have truly world-class defenders, which we don't.
We should have enough going forward to win as long as we don't go to sleep.
I think this could be another 4-2 type of game, but who knows?
I'll start to worry if we begin slowly. I hate that.

Evening chaps.

I've finally recovered from Sunday's celebration! <cheers> :emoticon-0110-tongu

Thoroughly enjoyed the Man Utd game. It was like watching an eighties match ... cracking stuff! You know a team's played well when even Manchester stalwarts like G Neville say they were outclassed in every position. <ok>

Back to the next match and, hopefully, another 3 points. Cardiff will fight but I've got to go with form and give us the win, although I have a feeling it will be tighter than at Old Trafford.

Will BR go more for craft than graft in this game? I have a feeling Coutinho will be back in the team, but who will he replace? He could drop Allen, bringing Coutinho inside, or give Sterling a rest, pushing Coutinho outside. Skrtel and Agger will start, I feel, and Johnson and Flanagan will continue as our full backs. TBH, I'd play the same team, but bring Coutinho for Allen, with Allen coming on later on if we're in a position to rest some players.

I'm hoping Sturridge gets a goal, but if both SAS get goals I'll be even more happy. Gerrard peno anyone? ;p

Rodgers was speaking ahead of his side's trip to Cardiff City this weekend. Victory for the Reds would see them keep up the pressure on Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table, but Rodgers reiterated that he is approaching things one game at a time.

He said: “The focus has been purely on Cardiff City, that's been our world this week.

“We had a wonderful performance at Old Trafford, but there hasn't been any talk of the title. We're just enjoying how we're playing.

“The run in for us is the next game. We have tough games right through, starting with a very tough game against Cardiff. We can speak about the run-in when it is over.”

He has to say that publicly, everybody says it. But sure as hell they're thinking about the run in and the chances of winning, so why not talk about it amongst themselves?
Discussing it isn't making assumptions, it's just voicing what everybody is thinking.

Apart from ensuring that I have a decent crap on Saturday morning, for the last ten games I have taken the dog for a walk before the match and fed the horses in the paddock by the river with cheap carrots and apples (and parsnips) from Tescos. I had been able to give them windfall apples from the orchard by the pub up till last month, as the winter has been so mild this year there was apples (and some pears) on the trees till then.

Not that I'm into superstitious mumbo-jumbo. Man of science, me.

0-2. Sturridge and Skrtel.
