So.. trying to cast your eye towards next season... what kind of a year do you think we will have?

I actually think we will have a decent season and finish around 7-9th.

I do expect us to recruit well in the summer, although I expect HBA and Santon may be out of the door. Add to that, Marv, Shola, Remy going, Jonas and Colo so we could be looking at 10 players or more incoming (one of them being LDJ).

Given the size of the rebuilding job I expect to see us move early in the transfer market so that the players have a full preseason together to work on tactics etc.

Pulling all of the above together we will have a wobbly start.... slowly building into a stronger finish as the new recruits get used to playing together.

I'm in a rare mood of optimism.... but that could be down to the warm glow..

You just don't know with Ashley what is going to happen, he is as likely to open up funds for rebuilding as he is to bung Mourinho £20 million to take the Chelsea 1st Team on loan.

I don't really share in the optimism here. There will be an exodus this summer I reckon, and seeing as Ashley has previously demonstrated he is rather tight with the purse strings I don't think we'll get much in the form of quality replacement. He'll probably invest enough in order to 'get by'.

I've heard from a good sauce that Pards is going to Chelsea with Mourinho coming up here.

I suppose that its inevitable when you are as good as Pards that the big boys will poach you.

I honestly believethere could be several top players leave

    Santon
    Tiote
    Debuchie
    Cisse
    Krul

    some of or more.

But I think our scouting and dossiers we have built up means we will bring in a lot of new players (maybe un proven, taking a chance)

I think we will have a struggle to overtake any of the teams above us (except sutton) but I cannot see any from beneath us overtaking us.

    So 7 - 9th in the league

After the backlash this year I think Pards will put out stronger teams in the cups

No derby games will be a bit of a miss but I will get used to it over the years.

Outside chance Ashley may sell cos I think we are looking like a well ran club with potential so a big time buyer may come in. I do not want to swap a billionaire for billionaire I want a a mega millionaire and not like that daft **** at cardiff.

Im not desperate to get rid of MA its not my money he is using.

I think we will see Debuchy and Remy leave. I think Tiote could well go too.

I can't believe you classed Santon and Cisse as top players Clockwork <laugh>

I think we'll lose Marveaux, Shola, Remy, Gosling, Cisse, Ben Arfa and not much else to be honest. It will cost someone 15m plus for Debuchy, he's first choice RB for France, Arsenal are trying to tie down Sagna, PSG have Van Der Wiel & Jallet and he's not quite Bayern Munich class. Can't see him going there either.

I think we'll bring in Cabella, Grenier, De Jong on a permanent, we'll try for Remy on a permanent, failing that we'll sign another striker and that will be about our lot. So we'll still have a smallish squad and be one striker light and one winger light but should be enough for another top half campaign.

Can understand your terror of having to play Sunderland again but I am afraid you will just have to get used to it and who knows one day Sunderland may have an off day
