Theres a chance that we won't even need that many after Saturday if Derby and QPR keep slipping up, but 14 points is a good number to aim for, would haveto be very unlucky to not go up on 94 points!

    14 to go ............

As I've mentioned a few times - the pressure on those chasing us down is immense .. and this part of the season is pretty surreal ... take last night's game between Wigan and Yeovil ... nobody would have given Yeovil a prayer based on their form versus Wigan's (eight straight wins including away at Man City and Cardiff plus a 4-1 hammering of the trees at their own ****ty ground) ... yet having taken the lead (at home), Wigan were 5 mins away from losing - miraculously turned that into a winning position, then contrived to concede an injury time equaliser ... it's all down to pressure ... we and Burnley (and we especially) whilst not getting complacent can afford to sit back and watch the carnage ... Forest V Derby on Saturday and QPR v Wigan next Tuesday ... only one winner in those two games us and Burnley ... <doh> ... that's two <laugh> ... but you get the drift .. unless, of course, you happen to be Queenie on his Viking longship, not going with any drift - and, alternatively, trying to sail against the prevailing winds <laugh> ...

The max Derby & QPR can get is 93, Wigan 92. 94 is therefore JD.

I'm not saying this is likely but after the question was posted on another thread about being promoted by the Burnley game, which I initially thought was impossible, as its way too soon. I looked at permutations. Now, I don't think it will be the case, but IF, big IF here, we got 9 points from our next 3 games & Derby, QPR & Wigan pick up 4 or less points (5 for Wigan) it is indeed game over. We'd be on 89 & no-one else could get more than 88 (I've excluded Burnley& avoided GD equasions).

I stress I don't think this is going to happen, unless Carlsberg are doing results but I was just genuinely surprised it was a mathematical possibility.

Unless of course the FA agree with Queenie who has played at a higher level than pretty much everyone one else, in fact a higher level than the other 21 on the pitch at the same time. and change the system this year so the best team go up we could use the following crieria:-
    biggest financial loss
    highest combined age
best atmosphere in side (Queenies mind)
most attractive blue and white hooped tops (it was close but reading won this one)
the team most likely to sin a player from the local Derby and Jones club
other ridiculous measures favouring DQPR are available

    What about:

    - Club most likely to give Redknapp a pension
    - Only club to still think Barton is a good player
    - Only club that didn't learn from Sven's spending streak
    - Having Rob Green, one of only a handful of England keepers more famous for gaffs than quality saves
    - London's richest club outside the Prem, which means they have a right to promotion
    - Highest placed club in the Championship to not have a player nominated for player of the season

    And many, many more.

When QPR, Burnley and lcfc were pulling away early in the season I remember thinking how well we had done and yet still couldn't break the top 2. Everyone had a sneaky suspicion that it would be Burnley who eventually fell away. If not them, then it would be us.
    Hahahahahahhahaha, oh mercy!

This <ok> i would never have put money on QPR to slip away, not with what happened to us last season and Burnleys years of (i think its fair to say) mediocre Championship performances.

I think everyone (including me) thought Burnley would drop off because we wrongly accused them of being a one-man team. They're simply not. They have quality throughout the side and play some good, high tempo stuff. QPR, on the other hand, are a team of mercenaries that have found the Championship much harder than expected, hence their stand-out player is a Championship veteran. All those established Premiership players, and Austin is their main man. Even at that, I never suspected we'd have the lead over them we do. It's mainly thanks to Austin's absence - it turns out QPR are the one-man team.

Yep QPR are lucky to be where they are due to Austins goals they would be mid table at best. They just have no bite up front and too many old over rated prima donas that think too highly of themselves and just want to collect a big wage. They are a team of individuals. We thankfully are the complete opposite hence our position in the league.

OK, Burnley are a four man team (Ings, Vokes, Trippier and Marney)!
