Following on from Wise men says thread on second teams. Does anyone follow any Us sports teams or other sports teams? In Basketball I follow San Antonio Spurs. When I started getting into watching basketball I saw they had a player called Tony Parker and followed them ever since. Also like The New York Knicks but its too much like following Sunderland In American football its New York Giants. Got into the NFL at uni and never thought id see them win the Superbowl and then they went and won two in.quick succession. Was a rough season just gone. In Formula 1 its generally whoever the British drivers are racing for so no team allegiance as such. And of course Durham Upon Wear County Cricket club
Baseball, i like new york mets went to a game a few years back when on holiday out there and got hooked.
apart from watching the Harlem Globetrotters when I was a kid cannot think of any others in the US -quite enjoy watching European Ice Hockey
Pittsburgh Penguins Ice Hockey club (my grandfather lived there as a kid but then returned to the Consett steelworks) so watch them as much as possible on premiersports (as well as other teams) and Durham County Cricket Club (Life Member) though work and recently more T20 means I do not get that much now
I grew up watching wwf and its just something thats ingrained into me and I still enjoy watching it. Its had its hey day but when its good it great.
I still watch it now, just watched this weeks raw. Don't care what anyone says, they put on a great entertaining show.
Tampa Bay Rays in the baseball. Go to see them every year while on holiday. Also the Orlando magic basketball team, who have went right off the boil since all their best players were sold/traded. And finally a confession - I have been known to wear a newcastle shirt on occasions, but only on a friday night whilst watching the Eagles play. For anybody interested its actually a cracking nights entertainment and its only £6.50 too get in. For those of you who refuse too enter newcastle you could also try the Durham wildcats who play at Newton Aycliffe sports centre
I do like Baseball but its just too much. 182 games per team in the regular season is ridiculous. They need to shorten the regular season and extend the play offs. Why NFL is special is the one game show case of the Superbowl. Nba & mlb obviously decided over best of 7. The whole college draft system and salary cap means it keeps it competitive. We don't do.enough of either. Their college sports programmes and scholarship are just a conveyor belt of new talent every year.
162 games so not quite that many haha. But then you have the playoffs on top of that. I love the amount of games they play virtually every night. Its alot more technical than people give it credit. Them pitchers are amazing you dont realise how far from the batter they are till you see it in the flesh.
Think theyve played the current Daniel Bryan storyline very well. They need to break up The Shield and push them on as individuals. Reigns will be the next big thing, Ambrose the next great heel and Rollins can fill the hole left by Cm Punk
