Morning, troops. Hope everyone well. Pilgrims, if you want winners today there’s only one chap to follow...dear old ‘Giddy’ Osborne. Expect winner after winner to flow from the Chancellor’s speech later on this afternoon. As they say around my way, ‘He’ll look after us will Giddy.’ I can’t compete with old boy Giddy re channelling loot into forum member’s pockets but I will recommend a horse who may contribute to this aim in a small way: MIA’S BOY (8.40 Kempers Park) – I’m sure my regular readers will think I’ve finally gone stark raving bonkers in advising a 10YO, carrying top impost and with form figures this term of -56459. However, there is logic there, methinks, as the gelding drops significantly in grade (to Class 4 for only the second time since the summer of 2011), has been on the premises this season in much better races, runs off his lowest perch since 2008 (is only rated 85 tonight and has a career high of 106), whilst his opponents this eve don’t look the greatest set of rivals ever assembled for a heat. Backing such an animal is always somewhat risky but I think the current 8/1 is more than fair for an animal who is a 10 time winner, has dropped significantly in the weights and in grade and could, could be a class above the rest of the field here. Good luck all.
Is Supreme Arkle’s surname Evzona??? If it is he’s got a letter in today’s ‘Racing Post’ having a right go at some chap who dared to ponder how Sire De Grugy would have fared if Sprinter Sacre had lined up fit and well in last week’s ‘Champion Chase’. Why he still bothers to concern himself with races that never took place (Arkle v Kauto Star being his former obsession) I’ve no idea.
Nass, haven’t got the paper with me. Had a sneaky look in the bookies when I went out for a lunchtime stroll a little while back. From memory he’s reaching boiling point about the very suggestion that Sire De Grugy would finish anywhere near Mr Henderson’s champion. His old forceful writing style remains and he is adamant, as always, that there is only one relevant opinion – his! Really can’t understand why he gets so excited about races that didn’t happen. You could debate them all day and still never know for sure!
Happy birthday Chan, I remember when I too was was still a puppy. Gotta love A.S. He'll never let go of that bone.
None of Zarkavas have made it to the track yet, her first Dalakhani filly was in training apparently but will never run. Would have thought if Zarkash was anything good he would have ran as a 2yo, maybe Galileo, Redoubts Choice or Frankel can work the oracle. Looking forward to Sea The Stars first classic winner this season.
My Titania could be very special I am hoping. Won twice last season when Oxx's yard was not at it's best and she will hopefully improve like her Dad as a 3 year old, I look forward to seeing her this year.
Going to give living the life a go ew well beat 3 starts ago by fav nassua but aspel has taken the last 2 rides and go exceptionally well
Return at last today Greensward ew cathedral had a bad run last time out at the start but got back into a well run race so the extra weight should be balanced out with a good start win bet
Speaking of AS, whatever happened to him? Why does he not post on here seeing as he was a stalwart of the 'old' 606?
Wonder how many punters been mugged by this so called betting coup today the Racing Post's been banging on about?! Hardly Barney Curley is it
