My statement IS true then. Obika would not come to Charlton while Powell was manager (because RD would not trust Powell with the funds) I just missed out the last bit !
Obika would. Spurs were being messed around with money - which TBF to CP is above his head. I was pro TJ and MS, but the money wasn't there for them to push the deal through.
Seems unlikely to me RD would sanction a loan move for another striker, we already have Obika, Sordell and Tudgay on loan, aswell as Church, Reza and Peter. Unless Tudgay is sent back of course...? Based on last night Obika will get a few goals for us.
Your suggestion, that it was because Obika didn't want to work with Powell, wasn't though. Perhaps an alternative conclusion could be that RD should have sanctioned this move earlier, and as a result we would have enjoyed the benefits of Obika's presence in the team for a few games already by now and perhaps garnered a few more points. I don't mean to knock RD too much though, at least Obika's here now, and if he continues to have the positive impact that he did last night then we stand a considerably better chance of staying up.
We have had Crimewatch. We have had Birdwatch. We have even suffered Baywatch. Can I suggest that you start a programme, and call it PowellWatch With your NASA radar- like ability to track down the slightest hint of a slur against Sir Chris, I am sure the families of the missing Malaysian airplane passengers would also be interested in your powers.
How dare you suggest that any of V-a-v's posts would contain the slightest hint of a slur against Sir Chris?
Rumour is that RD is going to sack Riga for defying his instructions and failing to pick any of the eurotrash yesterday. He might reluctantly reinstate CP because at least he picked one (the slow unfit one).
