As Hull City AFC Vice Chairman Ehab Allam revealed on Saturday 15 March, the club are finally planning to run a ballot asking season ticket holders their views on the name change proposal. City Till We Die called for just such a poll on 18 November 2013, but Dr Allam said it was ânot necessary." The club have yet to announce the exact wording of the question which will be posed, or how the ballot will be run. However, City Till We Die are concerned that the voting form may be worded in such a way as to present the ballot as a vote of confidence in the Allams' overall stewardship of the club, rather than the single issue of the name change. Our campaign has always been about retaining the name âHull Cityâ, and nothing else. We are therefore calling on the club to include TWO questions on the ballot form. 1. Do you agree with the proposed name change to âHull Tigersâ? â YES/NO 2. Do you support the Allam familyâs continued ownership of Hull City? â YES/NO We know that many supporters wish to remain as Hull City, but are happy for the Allamsâ ownership of the club to continue. We also hope there will be independent adjudication of the ballot, to avoid any doubt about the legitimacy of the results. As ever, we remain keen to explore alternative means of making the club financially self-sustaining, without the need for changing its historic name. CITY TILL WE DIE â Ambition AND Tradition
Agree with the sentiment, not sure sure about the 'Ambition AND Tradition' strapline . Good use of a rhyming dictionary. Also I hate to be a cynic, but they'll word the ballot questions how they want. Hopefully this will have some form of impact however.
This is exactly what it should be, it also gives them a chance to accept the FA decision and stay at the club without losing (too much) face.
Well that's any chance of a two question ballot pissed out the window. If CTWD call for something the old man will do the opposite just so as not to be seen agreeing with you. Many will be pleased, the undoubted brutal loss of this poll will probably see him pack his bags and bugger off. This is like the icing on the cake, congratulations to CTWD for using Allams own ammo to get him backed into a corner and holding a gun to his own head. What a jugular splitting conclusion this is going to be.
Excellent. Perhaps a third question is needed ? Should any passholder's non-response to the poll be excluded and have no weight on the interpretation of results ? YES/NO
Good call, the issues are totally separate and you're right they're being confused by the Allam's. If they've got any nous they'll do exactly what you're suggesting, as it'll no doubt provide a massive thumbs down to the name change and the converse to their ownership, which allows them to ditch the idea but with the knowledge that the fanbase support their ongoing ownership.
I totally agree that it should be a two question ballot, However, Allam won't see it that way and will see a pass-holder vote in the No majority as a vote of no confidence against them as owners. If however, The vote is a yes majority and the FA still throw it out, He will use this as a vote of confidence and spout more and more about how his application has been prejudiced. There is only one person to blame for this whole sorry affair and that is Assem Allam. He as no compassion for the supporters of Hull City whatsoever, and that includes the so-called silent majority.
All but two I believe(there are a couple of southern exiles who attend meetings via Skype and can't make all home games), the majority do away's too. There's about twenty in the group.
Worry for Hull fans over name chance ballot The campaign group fighting a proposal to change Hull's name to Hull Tigers fears the Allam family will use a ballot as a vote of confidence in its stewardship. The club confirmed on Tuesday that it will ask all season pass holders for their views on the proposed name change after it emerged that the Football Association's membership committee has recommended that the Full Council, which will make the final decision at its meeting on April 9, rejects the club's application. Owner Assem Allam has threatened to walk away if he does not get his wish, and the City Till We Die group is concerned about what supporters will be asked to vote on. As a result, they are urging the club to pose two questions. A spokesman said: "The club has yet to announce the exact wording of the question which will be posed, or how the ballot will be run. "However, City Till We Die are concerned that the voting form may be worded in such a way as to present the ballot as a vote of confidence in the Allams' overall stewardship of the club, rather than the single issue of the name change. "Our campaign has always been about retaining the name 'Hull City' and nothing else. "We are therefore calling on the club to include TWO questions on the ballot form: 1. Do you agree with the proposed name change to "Hull Tigers"? - YES/NO; 2. Do you support the Allam family's continued ownership of Hull City? - YES/NO. "We know that many supporters wish to remain as Hull City, but are happy for the Allams' ownership of the club to continue. "We also hope there will be independent adjudication of the ballot, to avoid any doubt about the legitimacy of the results. "As ever, we remain keen to explore alternative means of making the club financially self-sustaining, without the need for changing its historic name." Allam is convinced changing the name of the club after 110 years would open up new marketing opportunities which he insists are vital if it is to thrive in the Barclays Premier League. However, while understanding the need to attract additional revenue and acknowledging the good work which has been done by the Allams, the City Till We Die group has fought against the proposal from the off. http://www.itv.com/sport/football/article/2014-03-19/worry-for-hull-fans-over-name-chance-ballot/
Hull City name change: Fans' group asks for two questions in poll of season pass holders A Hull City supporters group has called on the club to ask two questions in its forthcoming ballot of fans. City Till We Die, which has campaigned against the proposed 'Hull Tigers' rebrand, says it is concerned the poll of season pass holders, announced by Ehab Allam last weekend, may effectively become a vote of confidence in the Allams' ownership of the club, rather than a straightforward vote on the single issue of the 'Hull Tigers' name. The Allams have yet to release details of how next week's ballot will be conducted. In a post on its website, the group states: "Our campaign has always been about retaining the name 'Hull City', and nothing else. "We know that many supporters wish to remain as Hull City, but are happy for the Allams’ ownership of the club to continue." With that in mind, the group suggests the following questions: 1. Do you agree with the proposed name change to “Hull Tigers”? – YES/NO 2. Do you support the Allam family’s continued ownership of Hull City? – YES/NO The Allams told today's Mail they believe a "silent majority" of Hull City fans support their proposed rebrand, which they argue will help create a sustainable financial future for the club. Previous polls have found a clear majority of fans disagree with renaming the club. In January, a ballot of 1,477 Official Supporters Club members found 59.5 per cent were against the move. And in December, an online poll of Mail readers found nearly 69 per cent of 3,450 people wanted to retain either Hull City AFC or Hull City. The City Till We Die statement also calls for independent adjudication of the ballot. It adds: "As ever, we remain keen to explore alternative means of making the club financially self-sustaining, without the need for changing its historic name." http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...-20829424-detail/story.html?001#ixzz2wQck5c9u
Bear in mind that 'Dr' Ass put Nick Thompson in an impossible position over the name-change denial... Bear in mind that 'Dr' Ass rejected CTWD's call for a poll on the name-change proposal.... Bear in mind that 'Dr' Ass's regard for the fans, whose 'crime' was to challenge him by singing, was that they could die when they want to.... Bear in mind that 'Dr' Ass stated: "Nobody tells me how to run my business" (but the FA appears to be on the brink of doing so)..... Bear in mind that 'Dr' Ass is claiming that the FA changed the rules on which they will decide on the name-change application - because CTWD 'fixed it'...... Bear in mind that 'Dr' Ass is claiming the FA 'leak' on Monday will bias the results of his poll (a poll which he said was unnecessary).... Bear all these things in mind and consider...just what kind of a man is our owner?
What world do you live in ? One where Football club owners are saints and lovely individuals and unicorns **** gold in your back garden? ****ing wake up.

It seems, from today's interview, that he doesn't think we fixed it, merely that we shouldn't have been asked to make a submission to the FA.
