Skylarker aside, they say he's overrated and if anyone thinks he's the best of his generation then they are spot on.

Oh and only Giggsy has more assists in the Premier League than Lampard.

Played both regularly to be fair.

Thats the point though, they didnt have to get back because their positional play was so good. They were already where they needed to be.

Like I said, when one is caught for pace, the other steps in, when the other is caught out of position, the other steps in.
The facts prove that those two defender types perform best together in the PL.

Or in Rios case you just ran after than, took the ball, walked up field and played a pass.

Gifted defender. The best of his time is subjective, hes the one I saw more than any.

To say he wasnt one of though, nonsese. regardless of bias

The only way your ever going to get a worthwhile opinion on any of these comparisons is if you ask neutral supporters there opinion. I'm sure this has been done before on the whole Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard debate, and most neutral supporters said Scholes:biggrin:

I think all are very close with Scholes just edging it.

Scholes had the best footballing brain I think I've seen and pair that with his amazing passing ability you've got a world class player. However, I wouldn't swap Lampard for anyone as I'm sure you wouldn't swap Scholes nor would Liverpool fans swap Stevie.

What an idiot Rio was twice the player Carvalho was. Look at Terry he probably the dirtiest player in the league and makes Vidic look clean.

    I don't, he's one of the best full-backs we've had though.

Scholes> Gerrard and lamps. Only thing I would say about lamps is one department where he edges it over Scholes is that he is very good in big games. His temperament is superb under pressure

Rio could only dream about being as good as Carvalho.
And if Terry and Carvalho were so bad, how come their partnership was the most solid EVER. 15 goals conceded in 38 games in 05, then 22 in 38 in 2006.
I dont think many outside the Red half of Surrey believe Rio was anywhere near the best defender, at any time.
