Was totally amazed the other week when the City fan running the London marathon said in a radio interview that he was unlikely to be able to make the Sheff Utd game after the race , which you can totally understand , but then said an even bigger dilemma would be on FA Cup final day (should we win) as its the magic weekend !!!!. As a Tigers fan not from this area ,is this really a problem for Hull born and bred supporters and do a large proportion of our fans feel as passionate of RL as they do football. So , do you miss one of the most famous fixtures in world football or go and watch the RL in a virtually empty stadium in Manchester that 99.9% of the rest of country couldn't give a toss about ?
Also heard said on Saturday a chap refuse to "sing we are Hull" as he's a Rovers fan ffs !!

if you support both one of the rugby teams and City, and choose the rugby over the cup final (if you can get a ticket), you are a ****ing idiot.

    In my opinion.

That's ridiculous. I support both Rovers and City, but if Rovers were in a final and City were playing on the same day, I'd watch City.

To be honest I am curious about the rugby clash too. Will it release some tickets for non-season pass out of towners? What's the general feel for this?

Don't they have 'magic weekend' every year ? I can't see it been a big issue really most people would choose football in this case

I'd suggest that people who want to go to the rugby, go to the rugby; whereas those who wish to go to the football, go to the football.

It's really not that offensive if some people prefer RL over football. Each to their own, as the right honourable gentleman said above.

That game is played like 4 times a year, it's why nobody cares about it any more.

I now live in Canada and I've been a FC fan got over 33 years and a City fan for over 20 years now.
Last year I thought about coming over for the final but it just was not worth it, seen FC win the cup in Cardiff and seen them play at the old and new Wembley in the cup and been to a few MM weekends, yes I have seen City play at Wembley but never been to a FA Cup final, I can not understand why any FC and City fans would chose the rugby over City in the FA cup final!

If we do get there it's going to cost me over $2500 for the weekend but will be worth it

I'm sure no one at the RL headquarters thought city would have the chance of playing in the FA cup final when the dates were set! I was going to go to the magic weekend it's a good piss up! Bit it's a no brainer where I'm going now IF we get there! Like has been said, these games are done to death anyway!

What about those who support both but failed to get a wembley ticket?

Would they go to the rugby or watch Hull City's biggest ever game on the telebox?

If I couldn't get a ticket (I'm a passholder so shouldn't have any bother) I'd go to rugby. I've already got my tickets and hotels etc for the rugby bought and booked which is a big influence. Also, I hate watching us on the telly at the best of times, I don't think I could manage it if it was the FA Cup Final.

Also, even though I've got Magic Weekend this year sorted I'll still be at the Cup Final provided we get there and just get the train to London from Manchester and do there and back in a day.

Never been to a Rugby game in my life .

If I did it would be to support St Helens or Wigan

What kind of train you getting? They haven't said they'll move the game yet! It's still about 5 on the same day!
