He was getting into the team ahead of Benzema at times but the Carlo must have had a word as Benzema is now in great form and thus, Morata is probably seeing he is not going to get the gametime. Might even be thinking of leaving, not sure where to though.

you will be amazed ow quick lads will be out giving it large when the inevitable happens with flanno. i've said my piece, you are the one blinkered.

    babbel was an RB btw.

sure have options, have a full back first who can do the job which includes an athletic ability to run up and down, ability to defend properly and the ability to get a cross in well. As such arbeloa yes, by all means. Is flanagan an english arbeloa? perhaps. if he'd keep his hands to himself he might be. He is all arms and legs defending. tell me he's not!

We have wisdom; he's got the power to get up and down, he can defend a bit and is strong in the air, he is learning his trade in positioning i hope on his loan, frankly he's not that good once in the advanced position.

we have robinson; he seems to be weak positionally but has good attributes in the advanced positions but also we are not sure of his engine to ge tup and down/

we have kelly; he have serious doubts about his fitness therefore ability to get up and down. he was good positionally but this season has looked ropey.

we have enrique; he is weak in positioning but uses pace to get back, he has a good enginer and can deliver a good cross.

We have johnson; who is good in advanced positions, when ift and bothered can get up and down and is quite ok defensively, again when not being lazy.

then we've flanagan, he's decent positionally no question, yes he can tackle but IMO he needs to learn how to do it without giving needless frees away as players just feel him grab and then or barge in they'll flop all day. yes he can move forward, its unfair to him to talk LB side as anyone right footed will pass back rather than forward if under any pressure. Can he deliver in the forward positions.... have you one example of him doing so bar that goal he got?

He looks decent but while 34 goals in 158 games is not great in any league, its shocking when you play in the Ukrainian league. He would be a massive gamble if we signed him.

I think in Flano and Wisdom, we have two versatile full backs who can come in cover any injuries and rotate.

We should now invest in two starting full backs who should be expected to start most games. Ricardo Rodriguez please!!

    so thats fine... for me the question is;

In rodgers mind I think flanagan forced hi mito change his mind. Wisdom was on the bench before christmas and was bascially ignored in favour of cbs playing full back as he didn't trust him, the same or worse could be said of flanno. the fair point is the lad got a chance and took it. Wisdom was sent on loan and it allowed flanagan through.

I would wonder if wisdom when he comes back will be looked at as ready to come in or someone rodgers will need to be proved to.

In the end if both wer eon equal footing in terms of confidence which do you think would be on said bench REALLY.

I still believe Wisdom is a better player than Flanno and has more potential.

Having said that, Flanno has come in and proven himself to be a reliable player.

Either way, these two are backups. I'm more concerned with first teamers - Ricardo Rodriguez at left back is the only choice we should be considering.

Bluff - Rodriguez plays for Wolfsburg and is possibly the second best full back in that league, behind Lahm. He's a complete full back (plays on the left) - can attack and defend. His stats in terms of his tackles won etc are phenomenal.

Once you see him play, you'll realise that Enrique and Flanagan are nothing special.

Haha he does look like a muppet. He's got decent speed/pace but his best attributes are his technique and game intelligence. Great positioning and reads the game.

I can't tell game intelligence from the videos. Technique yes, but so has Glen, who you quite despise.

Does Glen have technique? He struggles to pass 5 yards these days. And anyone can pass a ball when given time and space. The better players are the ones who can keep the ball in tight spaces and still play it.

So I would disagree with you on that - Johnson does not have technique.

he did... at the start of this season he was good. right now i'd not be pushed to argue on him.

in short he can dribble, go outside, cut inside, shot off either foot. but he seems to want to pass back now.

  20. I never claimed he was there yet, What I'm saying is can WILL be eventually. I don't think there is a might about it, I'm convinced he will be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with these types of players.
