Given the performances of some players, I dont think that they are in a position to dictate that they want to leave. Also if they don't meet the clubs evaluation they won't be leaving.
I sincerely hope not. Imagine if we'd had to play Vasquez up front this season while Michu was injured!
Not really to worried about a Bony exit although I pray we keep him . We will recoup are money and spend it again if push comes to shove .Rather sell him to Roma than Spurs or gunners though
The thing is, Huw would happily snaffle the 20 million and then spend 4 million on a Championship striker. The only reason I feel we spent on Bony was because Laudrup was bitching about the lack of transfer budget. Monk is not gonna rock the boat too much now is he ?
I was astonished when we paid all that money for Bony. At least we won't lose on him should he go. Who knows what is going on at the Club, when it comes to transfer negotiations. Certainly not the people who pay at the gate.
I'm beginning to think that cheapskate Jenkins will be happy to see us back in the Championship. Premier League survival depends on quality players and they cost money. Why sell Bony if we're going to have to pay out the same for another striker? And what about the proposed ground expansion? Fat lot of good that'll be down there. We wouldn't even fill the capacity we've already got.
Presumably Bony's contract has opt out clauses, viz, relegation;offers for him over a certain value, etc.,so Jenkin's won't have any say in the matter. The ground expansion seems to have disappeared faster than the crowd at Legoland when the opposition score their fourth goal.
Emnes, Lita, Donnelly and perhaps even Vasquez will step up to the challenge ROFL - in the championship that is... Playing premiership football Swansea needs quality players, in particular up front. Who will the board get to fill the gap after Michu, Bony and Hernandez. All likely to leave, relegated or not...
On the topic of stadium expansion, I passed the Cardiff City Stadium last week and their expansion is well underway - the frame of girders is already in place.
Pablo, Ki, Bony and Jonjo are all club transfer records over the past 24 months which has proven that the board does spend money. **** sakes, what do some of you want, spend big money on flops like Cardiff have? We can't afford to spend 10million on 3-4 players a season.
Well Emnes has been far more effective than Laudrup's superb signings in Vasquez and Scheter and Lamah, but yeah let's bash the f**k out of Emnes and N'Gog instead because Laudrup didn't sign them. Could also argue that Donnelly's potential has been hindered under Laudrup who preferred playing his useless loan players instead of giving the boy a chance
When we first signed Bony I wondered if he'd fit into our passing style of play given his biggest goal threat is in the air. As the season progressed though it was refreshing to see his vision and ability to hold up play in order to bring his team mates into the game. It will be a big loss if he goes, but we can only hope that Huw Jenkins reinvests the transfer fee in a player of equal or greater quality... I don't think he will leave if we stay up though.
I question Monks ability to attract players of a sufficient calibre, and hope the board can attract a manager who can do that, and make insecure players stay; this seen in the light of the board behaving unprofessionaly and largely being to blame for a poor season due to their actions on the transfermarket. This can, and will be, a hindrance towards getting a top-shelf manager... Of course many managers will take their chances no matter what, given Swansea keep the PL status...
