And Van Persie's allowing himself a little smile.

    First this year, I think.

Geoge Boyd has been charged with spitting at Joe Hart in the last game. Horrible behaviour.

Joe hart has somehow managed to avoid disciplinary action, despite pushing his head into Boyd's in the same way Pardew did. 1 got a 7 match ban, one got nothing....

I don't think he ment to spit at him.

I'm not suprised the FA making decisions like this anymore though.

  11. Yep, Boyd did something disgusting that I actually think is worse than biting but he won't get anything near the ten games Luis got. I also thought Hart was making a rod for his own back by complaining as he would be punished for the "headbutt". Yet more shockingly bad consistency from the FA <doh>

boyd fine. common sense says hart was provoked and force mahor says city dont need him so a 3 match ban is in order.

there is no way a manager in a suit should get the same ban as a pair of players. i think pardew should get his 7 and hart should have got 3.

boyd has no history but spitting has so if his ban is not at least 6 games then you can add it to the racist fa pile of anti suarez stuff

i'm still patiently awaiting short lists for poty awards

This shows perfectly the cowardly racism of the FA and their inconsistency.

They say they consider the Hart issue to be dealt with because there was a yellow card. But the regulations allow incidents to be revisted if the referee saw part of the incident and not all of it.

On what planet are the FA and referee living if they claim the referee saw the incident clearly and in its entirety and thought that Hart's aggression and headbutt was only deserving of a yellow?

They should be looking at the incident again but quietly look away because it's easier than making political stands against foreigners spitting (if it was deliberate it was a poor attempt) and moving their arms in a way that demands a worldwide response.

  15. That's a ridiculous thing to say. Provoked or not, you can't headbutt (loosely used) another player. If players are allowed to get away with things because they are provoked then technically you can punch someone if on the receiving end of a bad tackle. clearly that's not right.

well yes and no. i certainly take the point. i would not give hart 7 matches for headbutting a guy who spat at him. my common sense says spitting = extreme provokation so 3 matches... 7 is for a manager in a suit who should actually be down the cop shop explaining himself by rights.

i did say he can be banned for it...

but hey, if you go by rugby rule once a fight breaks out the guy who throws the first punch gets the punishment usually.

  17. Headbutting is a red card offence so three matches. Simple. Pardew got seven because he's a manager and should be setting an example to the players.

Spitting IMO is worse than biting. If someone bit me I'd be angry and probably lash out. If someone spat at me I'd see red and be uncontrollable. However, lets not get into a whats worse debate, they are both disgusting acts and should be dealt with on a equal level. Suarez got seven games in Holland and ten games here (partly down to being a second offence), therefore seven games seems to fit.

This yellow card / the ref dealt with it is bollox and needs addressing. Fair enough, they want to support the referees and respect their decisions but its making the refs bottle decision meaning they take the easy option knowing they'll get the FA's 100% backing.

thats fair enough. i do agree on the yellow card aspect of course. i personally believe increasing punishment on extra evidence is fine and you are only undermining a ref if you have to overturn blatantly bad decisions.... so ok fine the ref gave a yellow for hart being aggressive and mouthy, he missed the head action. fine... but why not just deal with it

EU threatens sanctions against Russian businessmen to be announced later this week: Assets frozen.

Any chance Roman will be one? ;)

He was given his oil holdings because of his dubious ties with certain government officials.

No chance of Chelsea violating FFP this summer?

Will they have a limited budget to work with so we can steal all their targets? :p

Seriously though, any chance Roman get caught up with this? Has he any ties to Adolf Putin beyond being given an oil company by the government?
